My current wheels are 8X18 and 11X18 Porsche 996 turbo hollow spoke wheels with a NEGATIVE offset which requires a 1.5" spacer up front and a 3" spacer at the rear. I want to eliminate the spacers all together and use a Porsche standard 5X130mm bolt pattern wheel with a positive offset. Some said BBS makes these wheels but I can only find negative offset wheels.

ANY 3 piece wheel can be configured the way you want it. Sounds like you went to 5 lug wheels. BBS being the best out there try RUFF wheel too. Speedline wheels and a performance shop are your friends. I hope you have enough modified the 914 suspension to carry the extra tire. Because cornering and breaking will impose lots more load than those old 15x6" vw rims could.
I really don't think you can drive one without any of them.
Maybe some people just want to buy the body and install aftermarket wheels, seats, etc.
The smaller the wheels the lighter.
If you want 17 inch wheels, then 17ibs is a very light wheel.
If you want 15 inch, then 13ibs is light.
If you want 19 inch, then 20ibs is very light.

Is it okay to tow my Porsche 944, 600 miles on its rear wheels? The front wheels will be on the dolly, and the rear will be on the ground and the manual trans will be in neutral. Is this safe for the vehicle?
im curious if it will hurt my trans.
The best source of info on towing is the owners manual. I disagree with the earlier answer, all cars are not the same.
I also have a Porsche and either flat-tow it or trailer it.

19 inch Carrera Sport size discrepancy? -
I have been looking at the 19 inch 10 spoke Carrera Sport wheels for the 2005-20008 Boxster/Cayman models and noticed that the rear tire size is noted at 10 inches but is larger for the 997. However, I was checking the specs for this wheel on the Porsche website car configurator for the 987.2 models and it lists these wheels and being 11.5 inches wide for the rears?? Does anyone think this is incorrect or do the 987.2 models have larger wheel wells or differents offset to accomodate the wider wheel? Likewise for the 987.2, I can't speak for them, but 11.5 seems out of whack. A similar mistake was made in the 2005-2008 timeframe, where the Carrera Sport were listed as 11" or 11.5"...
