how do i tell if my car has mag wheels? they look like mag wheels but i have heard that this doesnt nessacerilly mean they are. i heard you can get fake mag wheels which look like mag wheels but arent really mag wheels. so how do i tell if they are mags?
There was a time when wheels were actually made of magnesium and used on race cars. Today's alloy wheels are sometimes called "MAGS", but they are made out of aluminum, and are one piece wheels.
Steel wheels are two pieces, with the center part welded to the outer rim.
I accidentally niched my mag wheels, is there a way to rub off the scratches that are there?
It depends on the finish-are the wheels painted, polished, machine finish, Diamond cut machine finished, or chrome plated? They don't need to be trued. They're ok if you're light weight and/or not very hard on your bikes (small jumps, smooth rider). Skyway Tuff Wheels are a little better than the 2 you mentioned.
But....they can break if abused, and aren't as strong as a good set of spoked wheels.

I just bought a road bike, and am looking to do some custom work on it. (paint & mag wheels) Any ideas on where I can purchase a decent not too pricey pair in or near culver city? I know of a few bike shops around my 'hood but they are kinda high end...any ideas/feedback/info is appreciated gang!

I have a 2005 lancer with 2006 specifications. I want to get some new mag wheels for my car, preferably 17". However i dont know what the bolt pattern is. Is it 4X100 or 4X114.3. Also, does it matter if i get rims with either of these bolt patterns or does it have to be specific to my car?

1st what ever you get has to clear all around the tires front and rear. also steering has to be able to function as well. modifications are made for a lot of cars with your desired wheel size. you would do better to fit what size will work. and as for adapters as some one said. that's not the wheel for your car. shop around before you spend. then find the best deal after that.
Remember ! what ever wheel size , you have to replace that size tire. and the cost of that size too.
