More stuff I do at work Polish aluminum truck wheels

I have a set of American racing aluminum wheels on my truck, but they've become dull and oxidized. Since they are not clearcoated, I was thinking of using my sandblaster to remove the oxidation. I was told by someone that I might want to use crushed walnut shells. Would that work? Where can I get crushed walnut shells? Thanks.

If i were you and in this situation, i would look into using "soda" in my media blaster. It is similar to baby powder. I know first hand that u can remove the paint from a coke can WITHOUT harming the metal with this media. Look into it and good luck

hit the back of the rim with as big hammer as you got make sure all lug nuts are off hit turn hit turn and so on till it comes off not a bad idea to hit with some wd40 either before ya do it plz do not listen to good heart guy above and never hit the tire hit the rim only hitting the tire could cause it to break the bead causing you great harm trust me ive installed tires for years the rim if you just hit the lip wont bend to much prob not at all if u do as i instructed

i have aluminum wheels on my truck made by american racing. the model is called "outlaw". they have a clear coat on them and they are tarnished and oxidized under the coating. i want to use them but they look very used and ugly. what do i have to do to make them look like new again?

use 220 grit sand paper to get the lose edges of the clear coat that is already coming off this will also can be used to remove the existing oxidation then you can hit it with some 1500 grit sand paper to make it smooth again you then can use polishing compound to get the shine back again , after that you wash them off with soap and water and dry them real good then you clear coat them. once clear coat is dry you wet sand them w/ 2000 grit ,wax then buff.

I have aluminum wheels on a truck and the rims are coated with brake shoe dust & or burn in to them.like to know how to clean them

Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish is the best thing for aluminum wheels. It will make the wheels shine like mirrors.
