what are the best trimmer spark plugs i dont care about cost
Champion pretty much owns the gas lawn care spark plug thing.
New spark plugs will increase your fuel economy. All you need are a few basic tools and a free afternoon.
I have a 2000 Dodge StratusES V6 2.5L Engine and my engine light came on. So i bought the car to Auto Zone to get free check engine light help(engine diagnostic). The reading came back as cylinder 1,2,3,4,5,6 has all misfire. Saying something was wrong with my spark plugs. But here is the twist II bouugh the car to Speedee Oil Change and Tune Up and they told me I have a rare engine where only three spark plugs are in front and the other 3 are behind the engine and they would need to take the top off of my engine to service the other 3 spark plugs.Cost $275.00 for a job i was originally told was going to be $45.99 including spark plugs. The guy that does the tune-ups came and looked at the spark plugs and said he don't see any defects like they need to be replaced. Does this sound about right as far as price concerned? What are the signs of a spark plug tune?
I think you refer to the P0300 Random misfire codes ---this "may" be plugs but "may not" -- This can be anything causing a misfire - plugs, plug wires or COPs, vacuum leak, injector, etc
I see plugs last a minimum of 30K on a "normal" engine ---usally 50 K

I think the lubricant increases electrical resistance even though it was labelled specifically for spark plug use. Shall i remove the plugs and clean the threads? Is applying lube on plug threads a commonly followed practice or did i get carried away by a well placed product in an auto shop?
Don't worry about it. Electrical contact is also made where the round metal gasket seats, and where the tapered shoulder seats on those plugs without the metal gasket.
Even if lubricant was also on these surfaces, it wouldn't reduce current flow.
I use an anti seize compound on all my spark plugs.

Helps reduce slippage on frozen or rusted fasteners
Helps reduce fastener wear without contact on outer 5-Percent of fastener, so fasteners last longer

I'm trying to remove the plug wires and spark plugs on this car but it has a boot that covers the spark plug and the end of the plug wire. I've tried pulling and wiggling it but it won't come off although it does loosen some. Do I need to remove the plug wires first to remove the boot? I've tried to pull them off first but the plug wires aren't coming off either.
Here's what ya do.. the rubber boot is part of the spark plug wire. If you are replacing it with new wires just pull and tug till it comes off. It just "snaps" in place but over the years the rubber has kinda glued itself to the plug. You will probably pull the wire out of the boot, once this happens that wire is no longer any good. That rubber piece stuck to the plug is actually a part of the wire. Sometimes it helps to get a pair of pliers of some kind and clamp the tip of the boot on rotate it in a circular motion, this will break the "seal" or bond that is making it stick to the plug. Once it (the rubber boot) twist freely on the plug it should pull straight off fairly easy. There is a metal clip inside the boot that is clipped on the tip of the plug, you will need to pull it off of the plug with the pliers once the boot is removed so you can get a socket on the spark plug. The spark plug will require either a 5/8 or 3/4 inch deep well socket to remove it. it unscrews counter clock wise. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN when installing, just real snug, if you have aluminum heads it could damage the threads and then you have a serious problem. Always start the new plug with you fingers and screw it all the way down, as far as possible before tightening with the ratchet. It should go in very easy if there is any kind of resistance while trying to screw the plug down with your fingers, it may be not going in straight. Don't force it if its not going in straight. You will easily be able to tell if its screwing in correctly or not.
I need to replace the spark plugs on my 97 Pontiac Sunfire. I can see where they connect to the spark plugs, but it appears the other end of the spark plug wire dissapears behind the engine. I was also recently told that there is no distributor on the 97 Sunfire, so what are the chords connecting to?
Thanks Koma. Do I have to remove anything to access these coil packs? Will I have to crawl under the car to access them? They didn't seem visible when I looked.
The wires and coil packs are hidden under the top cover which sits in the valley between the cams. Pry it up carefully... But then again, it will probably need to be changed as well.
