Does spark-plug socket for socket wrench looks different from the one used in changing oil in a car?
I have a set of socket wrench with a bunch of sockets and I need to change the spark plug on my lawn mower. none of my sockets fit on it.. is there a special socket with a different front on it??
a "sparkplug" socket has a rubber sleeve insert in it to help avoid cracking the porcelin insulator of the plug. most times if careful you can use a regular deep 6 pt socket size 5/8, 3/4, 13/16 depending on plug

Spark Plug Wrench
Works with any brand spark plug
Measures 4-inch in length.
I know it's not a perfect scenario, put will an ordinary wrench work to remove the spark plug from push mower?
Also, what size is the spark plug wrench I would need?
Thanks in Advance
usually a 13/16's wrench but it's easier to use a adjustable cresent wrench.

Stanley Sockets feature our Max-Drive design, a unique radius corner design which provides 15-Percent more torque, making it easy to tighten fasteners and simplifies the turning of rounded corners
Helps reduce fastener wear without contact on outer 5-Percent of fastener, so fasteners last longer
Is a torque wrench necessary for replacing spark plugs? Why does the bolt have to have a specific tightening? What type of torque wrench is recommended for this type of routine?
The plug needs to be tightened to the correct specification. If you don't know what than feels like then yes you need to use a torque wrench. All fasteners have a torque spec; over-tightening can deform and brake parts, under-tighten and it will fall apart. A click type torque wrench that has the range you need is all that's needed. While a mechanic can put alot together without a torque wrench, it comes with experience. As a mechanic I see plenty of screwed up spark plugs and threads by amateurs, don't assume you have the equivalent of 10 years experience, use the torque wrench and do a good job.
one my 1991 Chevy Cavlier 4Cyl 2.2L motor i was looking down at the spark plugs today and im sure they need replaced
its just when i look at them they are all rusted on the outside
where the spark plug wrench would go. what should i do?
i want to get them out with out brakeing anything please help
first make sure it is the right size spark plug socket different brands have been known to be different sizes once in a great while. one good trick is to use an air compressor to blow the loose rust and dirt out and if that doesnt work u can spray some PB Blaster or something else that will break down the rust and again use the air hose to clean it out then double check the size of the plug and it should be no problem from there

Removing the spark plug - Yamaha Rhino Forums - Yamaha UTV Forum
Hi. This is my first post. We have an '06 660. It started backfiring yesterday and then died. Could not get it started and towed it back home. I am on my own with trying to do a few things because my husband won't be back from Alaska for another three weeks. I cleaned the air filter and I've been told to clean the fuel filter and check the spark plug. For the life of me, I cannot get the spark plug out. The wrench in the tool kit is just too short. Can someone advise me what to do because the illustrations in the manual do not reflect the reality of the situation. It shows the wrench with a short rod through the hole for turning, but the rod sure appears to be much higher than where it sits when...
