1995 nissan pickup 4 cylinder, had to put new plugs and wires in about 3 months ago, it runs great, much better gas mileage but idles roughly once the engine warms up. Is it my plugs is it more likely that its something else.
sometimes new parts come defective. I would bet on the wires since it does it when it warms up.

I want to see if my Crown Vic will perform better with maybe platinum plugs or something different. Anyone recommend Bosch or another brand in their Vics? Hows the performance and can you tell the difference? Thanks!
Stick with the OEM Motorcraft. the long part number is AGSF-32PM, short number is SP-493, they have the extended threads to help prevent spark plug blowout. Use a torque wrench when tightening the plugs and do it when the engine is cold. torque spec is 13-15 ft-lbs.
the majority of problems we see at my dealer with running rough and misfires are caused by the aftermarket and performance spark plugs. once replaced with OEM, they run fine.

Just ordered some high performance taylor spark plug wires for my 3.1L, hasn't arrived yet, didn't consider it could crack them. Whats your opinion.
The wires won't crack your plugs, but improper installation of the plugs could result in a cracked insulator. Be careful when torquing them down.
Hi-performance air filters can improve the air flow amount to the engine and reduce the amount of work the engine has to do to draw the air into the carburetor or throttle body. This can make a small difference in fuel economy and performance. There are some pretty high dollar intake systems out there that claim up to about a 15 horsepower increase and a 1-3 mile per gallon mileage increase. Low restriction exhaust systems can also improve those numbers. Although, the largest effect on mileage is going to be your particular driving habits...... Are you heavy on the gas when you leave a stop sign or stop lite? Do you constantly get on and then off the gas pedal when you are driving down the street or highway? Maintaining a constant throttle position and taking it easy when accelerating from a stop will improve your gas mileage as much, if not more than the filters, intake and exhaust systems will. And it won't cost you a dime in modifications.

How often should you change your spark plug wires? Every 60,000 miles is not out of the question and at that point you probably want to replace some other ignition parts including your Cap, Rotor, Spark Plugs and while you are at it you should inspect the other wear items on your car such as your Accessory / Fan Belts, Air and Fuel Filters.

I got a ragtop 68 bird with a 400 that sat for 15 years i had it running once or twice but now I cant get it to start. I replaced almost everything, plugs wires dist, coil, qjet,..., I was going to replace the points with an electronic unit but somehow it got fried and I went back to points. Putting the dist back in I brought up the number one to TDC on compression got spark and fuel but its not starting.
I finally pulled the timing cover and found the timing marks at 12 on the cam and 12 on the crank!
Doing a bit of searching here I found someone saying the timing should be at the number 6 plug not the number...
