Bosch Spark Plug

I have fitted Bosch HR 8 MEV to my Ford Focus 1.6 and shortly after the ignition coil failed. Are the two things related.

Probably not connected, it is a well known issues with the Ford Focus for the Ignition coil to fail and bring on the engine warning light, once it is replaced you'll be fine, there usually isn't a problem but because its misfiring it can kill your catalytic converter as it has had too much fuel run through it so if your engine warning light comes on again but it is running fine that'll be the problem

Overview of Bosch spark plugs and their features and benefits

same size I took them all out and now I don't know where they go. The wires have numbers on them but there are a few wires that have the same numbers. How do I replace them correctly??

I believe you said that the new wires are all the same size? In 2003 the only engine options are the 4.8 5.3 and 6.0 for the Tahoe these engines all have one coil per cylinder, if this is the case than all you need to do is install the wires from each coil directly down to the spark plugs below. If this isn't the case then maybe you have a different year?, with maybe a 5.7 and a distributor?

I am thinking about replacing my spark plugs by myself for the first time. I have seen spark plugs by Bosch that do not require gapping. Are they just as good, or even better, than the standard ones that require gapping?

they come pre gapped, BUT i have come across some that had been hit or damaged and had no gap, some had too much gap

i think its always a good idea to double check, on any brand plug, just in case

I currently have Bosch spark plugs installed with 4 electrodes on my Honda CIvic 01. They are relatively new, I only drove about 35 000 miles since I put them one. It gives me pretty good mpg, with nice smooth idling. But I am thinking to change them to Denso Irridium, I heard that Irridium spark plugs will give me more horsepower and faster accelaration. I am worried about the fuel consumption though. Do you have any experience with irridiums? Should I keep my bosch spark plugs or change them?

Don't use the Plat 4's your engine doesn't make that kind of horsepower that there designed for. Platinum 2 would work just fine. Those are still a waste of money. Like the other guy said just get some NGK's they do they job and there pretty cheap compare to the Platinums.
