Wheel Rims

I asked recently about fitting 15inch tyres to a metric size wheel, tyre size 220/55VR390, and all of the advice I received was against the idea and said it couldn't be done. The only option left is to replace the rims to take a 15 or 16inch tyre. What other BMW rims would fit a 1985 735i BMW?

For a 15" you will want to find one with a 18mm offset, a 5x120mm bolt pattern, and put a 225/60-15 tire on it.
There are a lot more 16" available, at least from Tire Rack. Then it would be a 20mm offset, with a 225/55-16 tire. The V in VR is a speed rating, and would be used for these sizes as well.

I have aluminum wheels on a truck and the rims are coated with brake shoe dust & or burn in to them.like to know how to clean them

Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish is the best thing for aluminum wheels. It will make the wheels shine like mirrors.

We use it not only to detail cars, but also on Fire Department vehicles.

I have custom rims on my car but they dont have the same wheel nuts like normal cars have. What will I have to use in order to remove them?

you should have gotten a key that is for those wheels only

Store in a shaded place. Hang or lay flat.

I can use either steel or chrome wheel rims. New OEM's are much too expensive and I have tried looking for less expensive versions. Anyone have any suggestions. Thanks!
Also, is there another rim with the same 16" bolt/nut pattern that you think I can use.

www.tirerack.com has deals on "steelie" wheels that are usually pretty economical.

You have a 6x114mm bolt pattern on your vehicle. Any vehicle with that bolt pattern and a similar offset will work. The offset should be pretty standard for trucks.

i purchased a set of giovanna ararat wheels 18 inch off of a guy and the bolt pattern is correct for my 2002 mitsubishi eclipse. his car was rear wheel drive while mine is front wheel drive, though. i put the wheel on my car and it seemed to fit. what types of problems will i encounter if i put the wheels on?

No backspace is different. You may have clearance problems
