Zurich is huge! they have been buying up smaller insurance companies all over Europe, and that includes the UK. In the last few years they have swallowed up several companies with which I used to deal, including Allied Dunbar.
So, No, I really would not worry that they are Swiss, any more than if you buy a Sony television you might need to speak Japanese, or German if you buy a BMW.
Yes they do however they focus more on commercial vehicles and fleets. As far as I remember they are not competitive in the personal auto sector.
