if you buy a volvo but make it into a exact look a like replica of another car ?
A VERY VERY WINDY DAY HERE IN TORONTO

do you pay car insurance for a volvo or the other car it looks like?

You will pay 2 times the price that it costs to insure the original volvo as the car's been tampered with and it has been modified from standard. Fail from notifying your insurers about this and your insurance is void.

Also, 95% of insurers out there will not insure you hence when you will find one it'll be 2 times the price.
I say 2 times the price but it could easily be 5 times.

Is insurance on an older and used Volvo expensive for a first car driver?
curacao license plate in st maarten / plaque mineralogique curacao a St Martin

Credit is excellent and no accidents..... and will be on a shared plan with parents company,USAA

I would just ask USAA what the exact cost would be.
If the car is a four door sedan, it would probably cost about the same as other cars in the class.
Remember liability coverage is what tends to drive up the cost for younger drivers, assuming you are driving a regular car.

Insurance costs go up for two doors, turbo chargers, sports cars, etc.

Why are car insurance companies prepared to pay inflated prices for repairs?
Insurance

A few years ago I had a minor bump in my car, as it was outside a volvo main dealer I asked for a quote to repair it. They quoted £690 including a guarantee on repairs. Insurance company wanted it to go to approved repairer, ended up costing £1790. No wonder insurance is so expensive.

You would actually expect a posh main dealer to charge more than an approved but tatty repair shop.

It's insurance economics 101. they pay the prices and then they are justified to increase your premiums and make more profit. It's a vicious circle.

What car insurance should I get?

I am about to purchase a 1997 Volvo 850R sedan from a private individual. I am in Indiana. I have never had my own car insurance, always being on my mom's plan while in high school and college. Now that I have to set up my own plan, I have received quotes from Progressive, Esurance, Nationwide, and a few others, and everything looks and sounds pretty much the same to me. My mom has given me advice on what kind of plan to get, but I was wondering, is there a good or specific insurance company for someone like me? A male under 25 with a clean driving record and no tickets or violations? Does anyone have any good advice or horror stories from any specific car insurance company? What has worked best with you and your plan? I would like to get the insurance lined up by Tuesday or Wednesday, so any advice on where and how to go about it would be greatly appreciated.

One point to remember: your rates are based on what group you fall into. Single males under age 25 pay the highest premiums because that group has the highest risk. Keep your clean driving record with no tickets or violations - that will keep your premiums steady.

Go for a reputable firm (Allstate, State Farm, Geico, etc) and avoid the "Billy Bob Insurance and Lawn Care" firms, even if their rates are lower. You get what you pay for.

Unfortunately you fall into a high premium group, so VERY important to keep a clean driving record. If you start getting tickets and having accidents your rates will go SKY HIGH, considering you can get insurance at all.

And when you turn 26, call your insurance company and have your rates recalculated.

is insurance on an older used Volvo expensive for a first car owner.?

I love volvos

I would say if anything it would be cheaper because of Volvo's safety ratings. The insurance company would like that.

Volvo: safe vehicles, cheap car insurance? | Auto Insurance 101

Volvo made some of the safest car anyone can buy in today’s market. There are many stories about Volvo drivers getting involved in a nasty car accidents that look like it would have been fatal, but the Volvo driver came out walking away with little to no injuries. Some of the features that make Volvo very safe are their safety features such as the side and head air bags, whiplash protection seats, traction control and anti lock breaks. This is why Volvo auto insurance coverage is very affordable.

Auto insurance companies favor safe vehicles and safe drivers. By driving a Volvo which will lower your chance of injuries and so will your auto insurance cost. When a Volvo driver got involved in a car crash with another bigger and heavier vehicle, the Volvo driver is likely to come out walking away with little to no injuries. (while wearing their seat belts of course) The car insurance companies save million of dollars each year with medical cost. That is why Volvo insurance coverage are very affordable because the auto insurance companies want to motivate people to drive safe cars.

Volvo Car Insurance

Volvo is a high profile car. Not only are repair and maintenance costs higher than other low profile cars, but insurance rates for Volvo car be as much as 20% or more higher than other low profile car insurance rates. And rightly so, because insurers take on greater risk when they insure higher profile cars since the costs for replacement and repair are greater when they pay claims. Over the past two years, repairs costs have increased nearly 25%. And when it comes to car insurance, the rates aren’t getting any lower either. So if you drive a Volvo, the best way to find low rates is to shop around by doing multiple quotes.
