I dont know why my car insurance is so high compared to my friends. I own a 2005 suzuki Forenza, I'm married, have no tickets and its still $176.00 per month, while my unmarried friends with nice cars are lower, I thought that being married and not having a sports car was suppose to lower the price. Anyways...let me know how I could get it lower. Thanks
I'm using Geico right now, they're the ones charging me so much.
It all depends on:
1. Your age (25+ usually has a lower rate).
2. Driving history.
3. Residence.
4. Year of vehicle.
5. Gender
6. And type of insurance. It could be that your agent tacked on a bunch of things such as car rental insurance. I'd double check if I were you.

Problem is, there is no true "cheapest" insurance company. Avoid the fly-by-night companies you might see on daytime commercials ("Bob's Insurance insured me and I had 4,290 tickets last year!").
It'll take some time, but spend it wisely by shopping around. Call Progressive, Geico, Allstate, State Farm, AIG, etc. I did, and found that there were huge differences in rates despite what you perceive on TV (some folks think Allstate or State Farm are more expensive when they might not be). Inquire about all discounts you might be entitled to.
Hey, my older brother has a Honda HR-V 1.6 VTEC engine which is UK insurance group 9 and tax bracket F, I am looking at a Suzuki Swift Sport 1.6 engine, insurance group 9 and tax bracket E... my insurance is with my dads business who say i can have up to a 1.6, I learnt to drive in my brothers car but the insurance company are "looking into" whether or not i can have a Suzuki Swift Sport, it has no turbocharger, so what is the big deal

There is no ONE insurance company that is right for everyone - everyone is rated individually - and all companies have different "likes and dis-likes", different credit tiers, different business models, and many other factors that can vary your rate - and a QUOTE is ONLY a quote until the policy is issued.
Typically, insurance rates will vary from region to region. It also will depend on the type of car/truck, coverages, limits of liability, and driving record.
The best thing to do is call a LOCAL independent broker. Don't go across town, or to some other city - look for someone CLOSE.
An independent insurance broker will normally have a dozen different companies and if he cannot help you, he should be networked with other local brokers that can.
Most of the replies on this site say "go to this on-line carrier or that on-line carrier or that 1-800 number" but I'm sure that when you do, you will find some impersonal computer user with a script to work from and you won't be able to talk with the same person every time you have a problem!

I've just decided to restart my lessons after 4 months of being away from them - last failed my test by one minor at the very end of the test was absolutely gutted. I am just about to turn 18 years old and am looking for insurance on my dads Suzuki Baleno. The cheapest I have found so far is £446.60 for fully comp per year with CIS Insurance which I know would be considered cheap, but is there any cheaper?
The only way insurers can offer 'cheap' insurance is by reducing the level and quality of cover. Sadly this sometimes results in claims which appear to be perfectly valid being declined owing to the small print. Less payouts = more profits = lower premiums.
I have been with CIS for about 40 years. I haven't claimed a lot but when I have they have been excellent and dealt quickly with the matter. Also you can talk to them on the phone, which is answered promptly. Try that with a cheapie firm, you'll be lucky to get through (unless it's the sales line).
Stick with CIS you can't go wrong.
Im a 19 year old male and I have my own suzuki swift sport which I have worked hard for for the last few years. The only thing is my insurance is around £3000 a year (brand new car)........ I dont mind going on my mothers insurance for example, im not worried about not being able to build my own no claims bonus.............................
I have done a small amount of research into going onto my mothers policy and it wasn't that much cheaper........................are there and other ways of legal going about this?

No I don't think there is. I got a really good deal from a broker for mine - loads cheaper than the big boys.
