Star Car Insurance

It was a 2001 hyundai elantra.
My insurance was 9 star.
My daughter just turned 21 and wasen't given permission to drive the car.

Your post is unclear on a couple of things...so I am assuming by your post that a) the car was yours and b)your daughter was responsible for the accident. The fact that she didn't have permission means nothing; unless you want to charge your daughter with stealing your car, which I doubt, then that won't cut any ice with an insurer.

There are insurance companies that will cover high-risk situations like yours, but I can tell you that they will want you to sign off on a document where you categorically state that your daughter will never drive the car, period, and if she does, they can cancel the policy or refuse any and all claims. And be prepared to pay higher rates, at least for a while, until you have been claim free for a given period of time (I would think a year or so minimum). The insurer will explain their policies on this.

Try searching the internet...there are high risk companies like Safe Auto, etc. who might give you some minimal coverage if nothing else...and there are sites where you can get multiple quotes from various companies.

Most insurance companies do not use a star rating system. They go by your credit and how long you had previous insurance coverage. If you never had insurance be prepared to pay a little higher at first and it will decrease. Shop around locally or surf the web. To get the lowest price with the best coverage. Remember, if it is cheap, it may be lousy coverage as well. Do comparison shopping to get the best deal.

Does car insurance price depend on the safety of the car? Like a car that has 5 star crash test rating, does that mean the premium will be lower than a car has 3 star rating? Thanks.

No, the crash test rating has little if any bearing upon the cost of the insurance. However, anti-lock breaks and front, side and head air bags do.

The premium for any vehicle depends upon the insurance company's history with that vehicle. If you have a car that's expensive to fix then your premium will go up, it doesn't matter if it's an expensive car or not. For example, up until several years ago Hyundai was one of the most expensive cars to insure.

I"m looking for a car for my son. so wondering if anybody knows the LIST of safe 5 star cars? taht afforadable, probably volvo would, yet pricey probably for maintaince.
basically looking for 2 or 4 doors cars thta cheaper on insurance as well proven 5 star crash test, if such a website that would be great as well..if don't have to be a membership that is.

Im 15 and im looking at cars so i know what im saving for. i know its abit early but im looking to star driving straight away.
I am looking for a nice powerful car with nice boot space, and i know that the cost will be around 10k but im worried about the insurance ...

When the time comes to buy a car, ask the insurance company how much the car you like is going to cost you in premiums. This may weigh in the decision BEFORE you fork over the money to the car salesman.

You will need to figure the premiums, car payment and still be able to save for car repairs. 10k will probably only buy a used vehicle and you may be buying someone else's problems.

Save your money until you can buy a year-end closeout vehicle. The price drops when the new models come out and the year-old car is still a brand new car. The dealer probably has "dealer incentives" on these year-old cars and it will still be under warranty and will last you several years before it needs maintenance.

Practice patience. Be content to know that you are saving to become a car owner. The make and model is of no importance.

When you finally do get the car you can afford, just remember how hard you saved for it and treat it with respect. Make your friends treat it with respect and don't become their needed mode of transportation everytime they call you up.

Talk to your insurance agent and ask a lot of questions. You are responsible for whoever is in your car, especially if they are ever hurt as the result of an accident.
