The flippin 'Shelias Wheels' car insurance one has got my goat
The loans compamy advert (Picture or Purple Loans I can't remember which). The one where the bloke is on the phone and hears a clap a thunder and he doesn't know if it is coming from where he is or being heard down the phone line!
He then has a nice chat with the man on the other end of the phone line about football and the call is being videod for posterity.....CRAP!
Half way through I have lost the will to live. Cringe inducing, eyeball scraping, bile producing rubbish.
......apart from that it is fine....

After all we have Shelias Wheels, Diamond etc. They could call it Bruce's Tyres. Or would that be sexist?
Bruce's tyres! Ha! good one....
I don't think it would be sexist, but i wouldn't think you'd save much compared to a ladies-only policy.
Ok, women are safer drivers. But surely that statistic is based on the fact that when families go out at the weekend or in the evening the Dad is the person most likely to drive and there are potentially more people on the road during these times.
I know this may sound sexist but a lot of women (or more accurately mothers of small children) will drive more during the day when the roads are quieter, hence less risk of accident, hence lower risk.
Ok, it's a long shot but you get the point.....
You're right though, insurance companies have cashed in on women-only and older-driver (40+) policies. Be careful though, i know of a few girls who have been roped in to these only to find their insurance isn't very competitive in the 2nd/3rd year as they know you'll assume they're still the cheapest. Always good to shop around a bit!
Sheila's Wheels Car Insurance has invented a keyring aimed at ...
Research conducted by Sheila’s wheels car insurance has found that a third of women feel panicky and anxious when trying to find their car keys as they approach the car, particularly at night and when alone. As is the current trend handbags have been getting larger and it is now estimated that women spend on average 416 hours of their lifetime looking through their handbag for their car keys.
In response to the research Sheila’s Wheels has developed a car key resembling a wearable cocktail ring so that a women’s car key is always quickly at hand. The keyring is not designed to start the car, but simply unlock it when the rings gemstone is pushed. This will allow for women to quickly get into their vehicles, lock the doors and search for the ignition key in the relative safety of the car.
...Jig Blog: How does a musician arrange car insurance?
The problem (apart from my unsettling knack for honesty) is my choice of career. Tell insurance people that you manage and play in a Scottish wedding band , and it seems to blow their circuits.
"Hmm. No... the computer doesn't have that one. What about 'nurse'. Would you say you're a nurse?"
They don't like entertainers, and certainly not music agents, those insurance companies. There's an impending sense of doom attached to finding out that the insurance people, the most hated of all people, are making judgements about my trustworthiness.
They think I might get famous and do an Amy Winehouse on them. I wonder what *her* insurance costs...
