I have car and home insurance with them, but just wanted to know how many people have changed and found better companies?
My mom is with Saga and she was hit by a landrover . She wasnt at fault as he rammed her.
Saga kept saying they didnt have all the info on the crash every time she phoned. They would quote the name of some other person, not the guy who crashed into her and the details of the crash were wrong. My mom kept having to correct them!. She was offer a curtsy car by them and they told her the the hire company would phone her. She had two hire companies phone... one claiming to be the approved Saga hire company, the other claiming to be the new one that saga use. Both companies where telling my mom not to use the other. In the end she refused any car from either.
The one car company seemed like a scam. As they try to get the money back from the insurance claim, but you sign papers to say if thy dont get payment - they will get it from you.
When the damage was inspected and got a repair date , she phoned Saga , who told her that they didnt know all the facts of the accident etc.....
Finally she has had her car repaired and it looks great, but she could have done without the bullship and the poor quality amature customer service.

i am getting a car tomorrow. the insurance for me is quite high so im going to put my dad as the main driver. because he is with saga i cant go on it(over 50). im getting mine with direct line. im not going to put on the new insurance his NO CLAIMS as you cant do that with two polices. the question is, if i crash the car on the direct line insurance will that effect his no claims on his saga policy??
No it only affects his no-claims if the claim is made on his insurance. You haven't made it very clear who has what insured on which policy. There is no point having two insurance policies on the same car so I assume you mean you will have a direct line policy on your car for you and your dad and your dad has a saga policy on his car that you can't go on.
Putting your dad as main driver on your car when he isn't is called 'fronting' and is a form of fraud. You might find yourself with no insurance at all if you do that. See the link below.
I have rung on numerous occasions and been promised that no more cr*p mail would be sent. This morning it's started again after a lull of about 6 months. Has anyone managed to get them to stop sending stuff out? I used to return it as "refused", I am registered with the mail preference too, but it makes no difference. I have no policies or holidays or anything else with them - I was just daft enough to ask for a car insurance quote once upon a time.
Hi. I get them too. Also from Axa. You would think they would take the hint when we buy nothing from them but no. I am surprised with all these carbon footprint speeches and global warming the government hasn't make junk mail illegal. its high time they did.
I'm sick of it.
could you please tell me your experience or opinion about SAGA
car insurance company.
Thanks many in advance.
Since that's a UK company, we Yanks haven't had any experience with them, but others have. I Googled "saga car insurance complaint" and got a number of hits; try it, then decide for yourself.
insurance company is saga
I think it's best to phone them

So I went to the police station to file an accident report. I spend 30 minutes filling out their paperwork. I had it in and it is passed to a deputy. Then they tell me I have to go to a different office to file the report. UUUGGGGG. It seems even though the accident happened in our city limits that stretch of road is handled by the next city over. WTF! Then I get a call that they found the insurance policy for the car that hit me so I call and spend a half hour on the phone trying to get through only to find out again the car was removed from this policy and is not covered. Goodnight. Bubble bath and chocolate here I...
Saga launches insurance for aging bikers
Saga has launched motorcycle insurance for bikers aged over 50.
Policyholders taking out the insurance are covered against loss, damage, and theft of their motorcycle, including a minimum 60 days EU cover.
Customers can also choose added extras including personal accident cover, legal expenses, and helmet and leather cover.
Recent research by Saga found one in five (21%) motorcyclists are aged over 50.
Four in five (84%) older bikers said riding a motorbike allows them to enjoy the thrill of the open road.
A quarter (23%) choose a motorbike over a car to save money, while 17% use their bike to commute to work.
“With more over 50s than ever before taking to the road, it is a great indication that this age group is really embracing the idea of living life to the full,” said Andrew Goodsell, Saga executive chairman.
