Performance Car Insurance

I, mean naturally aspirated engines. I know the WRX STi or Evo, but I mean an affordable performance car. Something that's good on gas and insurance, but has performance.

Dose it have to be a Japanese four banger, or do u just want a sports car with decent fuel mileage. Dodge use to make the SRT-4 it turbocharged, and has plenty of power. hare are a few others Ford Focus SVT, Mustang, Chevy Camero, Mitsubishi Eclipse, 3000GT, Dodge Stealth, Eagle Talon, Mazda RX-7, RX-8, Toyota Celica etc.

I mean we all know that the obvious differences between certain cars like the engine size and performance, make of car, year of manufacture etc all affects the insurance cost but does the colour make a difference too?
Someone said to me that darker coloured cars like black cost more to insure on that basis than lighter coloured ones like white or silver
is this true?

"Yes".... Black goes up by £50...... Yellow and green cant be seen, so that up a 100.... And if you select pink the ...Oh my god, you wouldn't be able to afford it....lol

Seriously though........No it does not affect your insurance unless you have your car gold plated..

For example if I was insured on one car fully comprehensive and wanted to drive another not on the policy, is the driver covered with third party insurance? If the other car owner has gave permission for you to drive the car. Thanks, any information regarding limitations (value, performance) would be helpful also.
Does it make a difference if it is a performance car? Not a ferrari or anything but just a 2.0L 6-speed ? Cheers.

The fact that a policy is 'Comprehensive' does NOT automatically give you the right to drive another car for third party only risks. It is up to you to check that the certificate states "The policyholder may drive a car that they do not own and which is not let to them under a hire-purchase agreement"!. If you have a broker then ask them.

If you DO have this benefit then you can drive any car - irrespective of age/ make/ model - but you are not covered for any loss or damage to it. (NB you can't drive motorcycles or heavy CVs)
