Basicly who do GEICO, E-ENSURANCE,ISG & others have that they get to do the final insuring?

The thing about insurance is that there are many companies that they finance through to insure you. So no telling how many Geico or esurrance has to go through just to get you insured. Plus there are many factors that need to be considered such as if you've never had insurance before, you get stuck in a category called "non-standard"(high risk). You pay a higher premium than the person who has "standard"(lower risk) because you are a brand new risk and over a 6 months period do they monitor if you will be able to go for the standard soon.

If you go to their website, at the bottom left, there is a 'call us'. They have all that information on there.

Edit: Please do not get aggressive with those who are trying to help. Why not just ring them up and ask the name of a Director?

does direct line car insurance allow there to be more than 2 drivers on the the one car insurance policy

Typically it is best to list ALL drivers that drive your car. It may make your rates go up if one (or more) of the drivers has a higher rate than you do. So, if you are a female, under 21, you will have a lower rate than you would if you add your under 25 year old boyfriend.

Without specifics, it's hard to give you a specific answer, but you should be alright.,,,just be aware that the rate may go up.

Where we see some "red flags" is when there are more autos than listed drivers....like a person has 3 or 4 cars and trucks but only ONE driver listed on the policy.

The best thing to do would be to call or email Direct Line and ask them. You might do better by contacting a LOCAL Independent agent/broker for you insurance needs. Just look in the phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you should be able to find a professional agent with a dozen or more different companies to help solve your insurance dilemma.

Hi I have recently cancelled my car insurance with Direct Line.

I was advised that I have to send my certificate of motor insurance back to them, I have had loads of letters asking for this.... but no information of where to send it?

There was meant to be a prepaid envelope.

Does anyone know the address?

Phone them and ask them for the address and to enclose an envelope this time!!

Because car insurance is a very complicated product (oh yes it is)

Because insurers need lots of information to provide accurate quotes (show me an aggregator website and I'll show you a company providing misleading quotations)

People buy insurance online because - hey it's new let's try it! and forget that you buy a policy one day and you have 364 other days when you might have to make use of it - but they forget that buying online loses the personal touch - and that many online/ direct providers now have staff who know nothing about insurance principals - just how to sell.
