Ny Car Insurance Quote

Okay, I've had my permit for like a year because I didn't have a car to care if I had a license or not. Now that I'm getting a car. I was wondering how about how much insurance would cost. I have to wait a couple weeks from the car insurance place so please no "get a quote"

I just want an approximate estimate of about how much it would cost. I don't have drivers ed or anything. Just a license at 17 on my parents insurance. I would have my own car but it'd be on their insurance so that's 3 cars on 1 insurer. The car I am going to get is a 84' Volvo wagon.

Please just a month average price of how much more my parents insurance would go up. ( like they pay 100 and it'd be 250/mo. So i pay 150 a month.) something like that.

I just want to know if my job will cover my own difference

We're in NY and when we add a new driver to their parents' policy it usually runs about an extra $100-125 /mo. Comp/collision on the car will raise that number considerably.

Finding the right insurance

Ok so I live in staten Island, ny and just landed a job in long island,ny. I got an apartment there so i put my area of residence as the LI address when the insurance company asked me regarding quotes. When I went to the dealer, all the addresses said the LI address, including registration, title and whatnot. I got home and realized I made a mistake and rather than the house number being 442, I put 422. I financed the car thru honda? I already called the insurance company and got the address fixed? but what do i do about registration and title? Do i even technially own the title since i financed it thru honda? Everything is going to go to the mail at 422 and I dont even know who lives there!! Please help someone with solutions,,,,

Relax, go on line to dmv and correct the address. In addition call Honda's 800 # and correct the address with them. Use the vin # and social to look up your account number and have them issue the bills for the lease to the correct address. The worst case is you have to pay for a duplicate registration.

You will still get a tittle even though the car has a note but the tittle will show a lein on it and that is HONDA. If you called the dealership right away the back office that sends the tittle could correct it as that paper work goes out to dmv once a week.

i know there are 3 types of car insurance; Liability,Compensation and another,and the combination of this three makes auto insurance very expensive,but i also heard you can chose the one that best suit your needs than to take all three so that your monthly auto insurance expenses could be slashed almost 75%.My question is,as a resident of NY state,am i allowed to just take the insurance i prefer,eg if i want just liability insurance,i just pick that one and ignore the others to lessen my monthly auto insurace.Is that allowed?From the online quote of GEICO which claims to be the cheapest in the NY state,am to pay $550,which is wayyyyyyyyyyy to expensive for a student like me and so heard about choosing one option of auto insurance.Can i just choose the form of insurance i want or is IT COMPULSORY TO TAKE FULL AUTO INSURANCE in NY or America as a whole?

i am 17 years old and I just got my license.
I try to get some quotes under my moms name
and it came out to be around 3000 to 5000, in other words,
2 to 4 grand every six month just for me.
How much is normal teenager boy insurance rate it NY State?
One of my friends(they are twins) and they pay 20 total under their parents insurance. They own really creppy car costs like 1700 but still I thought guys under 30 pay the most expensive rate in car insurance.
What exactly is the average rate for teenager boy? I DO NOT Want any recommendation to go get a quote in insurace companies or wutever.

There is no exact rate...it depends on a variety of factors. Will you be a primary driver, what is your and your mom's history (tickets, accidents), what kind of car are you driving. While it IS expensive to insure young men, those rates sound extremely high. Unfortunately, the best way to do it is to have your mom call and shop around to find a better rate...sorry but no one here can give you a single answer.

got into a small accident. The other driver got a qoute from body shop - it was for $600. I decided to get it done thru insurance as apparently in NY if the repair is under $1000 then I cannot be surcharged.

Insuranced fixed the other car. Total repair came out to $1500 + 7 days car rental. That is a BIG difference for a total of $1800. from the initial quote.

Where is the difference coming from? I feel as if my insurance was out to screw me (GEICO). What are my options now?. How can a simple repair quoted at $600, cost exactly 2.5 times more thru insurance which is suppose to have people working for "me" to drive repair costs down?.

The "accident" was a big dent on a neighbor's car during high winds and my door swung open out of control and dented his door.
For whoever thinks I complain too much: A 2.5 times increase in repairs doesn't make sense.

The damage was only superficial from a dent. Not a moving accident. It is possible that the adjuster screwed up. That is all I am saying, after all there are incompetent, negligent professionals in every career.......

Why on earth would your insurance pay more then they had too? Seriously... are you even THINKING about what your saying? So your telling me that your insurance has some deal with the body shop.. where they give them EXTRA money so they can screw you over in premiums? Your kidding.. RIGHT? you CANT really think that RIGHT? seriously... that makes me so sad for you that you think the world is out to get you that much.

Sweetie- when you got the estimate.. it was JUST THAT- an ESTIMATE. Once repairs start body shops almost ALWAYS find additional damage. That amount of damage is VERY typical.

Many things could have happened.. they could have took off that outer skin of the door.. and found more damage inside. Maybe they called to order a part and found out the part price increased. They dont just give out money for fun.. thats absolutely ridiculous. You really think theyd increase your premiums 1200 next year anyways and profit from this? ha.

So.. to answer your question.. your being absolutely ridiculous. Most people think insurance only pays bare minimum and trys to get out of stuff.. i cant believe you think the opposite. Your absolutely wrong to think this and seriously why dont you just be happy they covered the damage and get on with life. geesh.
