Car insurance customers in Northern Ireland are the least likely across the UK to shop around for the best-value policies when it comes to renewing their cover.
According to research by MoneySupermarket, one in four motorists in Northern Ireland are likely to be missing out on the best car insurance deals.
The comparison site also discovered 20 per cent of drivers across the UK stay with their existing car insurance provider when renewal time arrives, rather than investigating alternative policies.
Steve Sweeney, head of motor insurance at MoneySupermarket, commented that it was "shocking" to discover the number of drivers reluctant to spend time exploring how they can save cash by shopping around.
