The insurance company will look at your level of education, your income level, your occupation, and the zip code where you garage the vehicle regularly.
They will also ask about the daily miles, one way, that you commute, and the annual mileage you put on the vehicle.
Caller A answers she is a high school dropout making $18,000 a year working in a burger joint., She garages her car in the highest crime area of the city, and drives 100 miles each way every day. Her annual mileage is 45,000 miles.
Caller A is quoted $1256/year.
Caller B answers she is a college graduate making $78,000 a year working in a university library., She garages her car in the lowest crime area of the city, and drives 10 miles each way every day. Her annual mileage is 7,500 miles.

This answer will depedn on your information such as you age, driving history, and vehicle you want to insure. Not all companies rate these factors the same, so what is cheapest for me, may not be cheapest for you. The best thing to do would to go and get an online quote at http://www.auto-insurance-knowledge.com/ 24-hour-insurance-quote-auto.html
This will compare all companies in New York city and show you the ones that offer the lowest prices.
Hope that helps
Im a female 19 years old in New York city..........i need to know what car insurance is the best......
I suggest you call a nearby car insurance agent to help. Since I live in Ohio I can't recommend an agent in New York, but try this site to before you buy car insurance

Here you can get quotes from different car insurance companies in your area, its the best way to find an affordable car insurance with a re
Honestly there is no way to tell without a quote. Different states have different base rates. Those base rates are then affected by your driving history, address, type of vehicle, driving experience, discounts available, the way the vehicle is used (work vs pleasure vs business), safety rating, ect. My suggestion is the find an insurance carrier that provides quotes online. Make sure you have an address for both states including the zip codes and the county if one applies. Try to keep the information as close as possible but be aware that each state may have some coverage requirements that another does not. Happy shopping and good luck!
I'm talking about parking, insurance, gas and the like. Please be as detailed as possible, thanks.
Others above have already gone over the basic costs and the basic principles of why you should not own a car here, but a couple more thoughts:
-- Parking it at home is one thing, but you'll need to park it at wherever you drive to, also (work? shopping district?) and that can get expensive really quickly.
-- Car maintenance -- more expensive here than in some parts of the country, because the repair shops have higher rent and labor costs. Also, if you're coming from a warmer climate, you may not be familiar with stuff like snow tires and salt damage.
-- Tolls. If you are commuting to work via most bridges and tunnels, you will pay a toll every day.

-- Non-economic costs. Do you really want to contribute to congestion and air pollution in the City? On a lighter note, if you spend an hour at the end of each workday looking for street parking, will you end up blowing your budget in the area of whiskey or therapy?
Interview: David Cross, Stand-Up and Author, “I Drink For a Reason ...
A favorite of comedy geeks, David Cross recently wrote the book “I Drink For a Reason”, a collection of funny essays. He has also gone on tour to support the book, giving fans outside of the coasts a chance to see him perform stand-up live for the first time in five years. (You can check for David Cross’s upcoming tour dates here .) I talked with David about the differences between writing a book and stand-up, why he turned off his Google alert and how his family life is off-limits on stage, at least for now.
What were the challenges you found in writing a funny book as opposed to writing a bit of stand-up or a comedy sketch?
...Report: Maryland's business tax climate among worst in nation ...
South Dakota has the most business-friendly tax system and New Jersey has the least, according to the Tax Foundation’s 2010 State Business Tax Climate Index .
The Index measures the competitiveness of the 50 states’ tax systems and ranks them accordingly based on the taxes that matter most to businesses and business investment: corporate income, individual income, sales, property and unemployment insurance taxes.
The states are scored on these taxes, and the scores are weighted based on the relative importance or impact of the tax to a business.
Keeping a state competitive in today’s global marketplace can be difficult, but there is one factor lawmakers have direct control over: the quality of state tax systems. The Index measures how well a state’s tax system encourages investment by maintaining a broad tax base and low rates.
