Im sixteen and about to get a car is allsate charging to much, is metlife better?

It depends on what state you live in, what car you'll be driving, where you'll be driving the car, how far you drive, whether you're on your parents' policy or not, what discounts the company offers, and other factors. Insurance companies are all different. Some are better for some perople, but not so good for other people. It depends.

We were hit while completely stopped. According to police report, the car that hit us is 100% at fault. He has insurance through a disreputable agency. Our Met Life agent has informed us that chances of getting anything out of this other company are slim to none and seemed to imply that WE will need to 'go after' the other company ( American Access - watch out for them!) ourselves. I thought OUR insurance agency was supposed to do that? I am told that we should just pay our deductible and let Met Life cover the remaining amount to get our car fixed, but that does not seem right! Help!!!

I have to guess at some important details that you didn't include.

First off, let me guess. You either live in Chicago metro or the other driver is from there? If I remember correctly American Access is one of the dozen or so crappy auto insurance companies in the Chicago Metro area. Long time claim adjusters call these companies the "dirty dozen" because they will offer you 50% on a claim that they should pay at 100%.

Secondly, the key to your problem is simple..........Do you have collision coverage with Met Life?

If you do have collision coverage then have Met Life repair your car then they will sue American Access for the repair money and the deductible you will pay.

If you do NOT have collision coverage then you are in a big mess. Without collision coverage you have to deal with American Access and if they are the company I'm thinking of. The bad news is that if you don't have collision coverage then your insurance company can't officially help you collect from the other company.

If you don't have collision coverage and you do live in the Chicago then you might as well file a lawsuit against the other driver right now.

I was hit while sitting in a turning lane by a Dodge ram in my honda pilot in the back.
I got up and met the insurance lady who looked and my car took pictures and said that they will fix my car at a shop they have for me that will give me a LIFE time guarantee in the part they replace.And that they will send me to the auto body shop to drop off my car and then hook me up with a rental car.
Or I could find a company to fix it and STIL geta rental car until its fixed.
Im not sure if that including painting it or what.
Then the lady started talking about my injuries and inconveniences and then said they can settle for 250$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????????????????????????
I said UMMMMMMM no I dont think so that is WAY to low for all the stress, inability to transport, therapy ,medication, having to take care of 4 kids while in pain.
What would you ask for as a settlement?

i would add up the bills (medical, loss time, transport, and medications) and that is what I would settle for. I would not settle for less. Your loss of time could include loss of time for work..extra care for your kids, etc. But, make sure you have a reasonable explanation for everything that you are seeking money for. Dont just come up with a number in your head, all the figures have to add up.

My parents are Ill, I've been taking care of them all my life. I met a beautiful girl who I would like to marry and start my life wit but, I don't want to regret walking out on my parents. My girl lives in California, I have been there multiple times and we have been together for a year and more. I love her alot.

I'm 23 and still at home with my parents, taking care of them. I have a good car, and moderate cash assets. I don't feel like I'm the man I suppose to be still living with them, but I also feel like a better man taking care of them. (because I'm there son.) The insurance want provide healthcare. My chances of moving to California and becoming the man I want to be by going to school are very high. But the chances of something hapening to my parents and me regretting it are just as high. What would you do? Would you hurt the girl, or take the chance?

Man what a tough choice to make at your age,hell that's tough at any age! Have you thought about moving your parents to Cali with you? Maybe to an assisted living facility close to you so you can be there for them and pursue your dreams. You sound very mature and well put together for a 23 year old and I would hate to see you miss out on great opportunities and the woman you love so much,both are hard to come by. Do you have any other family that could help with you parents? I'm very close with my parents and I can see how hard of a decision this can be.

I was previously married but my husband was killed and I was left with his life insurance. Down the track I met my now husband and I purchased our house outright with the insurance money. A few years in we got mortgage against the house so that we can purchase two new cars and are still paying this off for the next 25 years.
If my husband and I were to divorce is he entitled to any of the house seeing I paid for it with my money I had before we met? As for the loan we have together he is also responsible for half of the debt right?

1. If you were married when the home was purchased, it is considered community property and will be divided as such.

2. If you were not married when the home was purchased, but he has contributed to the re-payment of the loan, it will be considered community property and divided as such.

Unless you bought the home before you were married, and paid the loan with your salary only, or the most significant part by your salary alone, he is entitled to the home.
