Do MA auto insurance rates drop after three years of being insured?

Next year will make three years that i have had auto insurance through commerce insurance. I got a newer car this year and my rate went up $600. I was wondering if it was true that your rates drop after being insured for three years. And if they do is there a percent that they drop in MA.

I was at work and I scratched the bumper of a car. Am I liable and does it go on my insurance? I live in MA?

I drive a rented Ryder truck while at work and I live in Massachusetts. I'm not sure that the truck being a rental makes a difference. I was wondering if the accident counts toward my record and/or if my insurance has to pay for it. I assume it is the company's insurance that covers it but I was unaware if my insurance rate would rise on my personal account.
There was no police report filed as far as I know. The damage was really minor and the guy was really nice about it. I work for a good company so I know they have insurance and I am confident that they are fully covered.

Most rental places are self insured. So if you didn't get a ticket, it won't show on your record. But if you were at fault, and didn't take the extra insurance they offered when you rented, they will ask you to pay for the damages. Chances are your personal insurance won't cover a rental car, most don't. So it will probably be out of pocket.

Car purchase, insurance and parking permit in MA?

Hi, I plan to buy a new car in Mass and have a couple questions:

1. I used to live with my parents who live in Boston. I no longer do now, but I still visit them often enough that I'd really like to get a resident parking permit. Can I get one by adding my Dad as a co-owner of the car? Or must he be the sole owner?

2. I pay a much lower auto insurance rate than my Dad, should I expect to pay an amount in between mine and my dad's rates if I add him as co-owner?

3. I have much better credits than my dad, can I finance the car loan myself and pay for the car alone, even though my dad will be a co-owner? Will he have to pay taxes because I am in essence "giving" my dad the car by adding him as a co-owner? What if he's the sole owner, and I am paying for him?

Thanks!
Just a clarification, both my credits and my driving records are better than my dad's, so I am not trying to scam insurance since I only stand to lose by adding my dad's name. All I want is a convenient parking space so I do not to have to wait and find parking spots and walk long distances many days a week...

Well here is the thing putting your dad on the title does not make you an resident. Do not scam the city.

2- Yes if his driving record etc is worse than your insurance will go up even if you are the primary driver.

3-If you are going to put him on the title then he would need to be on the loan. If his credit is worse than yours etc. this would be a bad idea and cost you money.

Just live without the sticker it will be better for you in the long run.

Do NH and MA share speeding ticket info?

I got a speeding ticket in NH for doing 75 in a 55mph zone. I live and am licensed in MA. I think in NH the offense would add 3 points to my license, but in MA the rule is 2 points. So would I get 2 because I'm licensed in MA?

Also, does MA have a rule where your first traffic offense does not add insurance points?

Also, does your car insurance rate only go up when the policy is renewed, or does the car insurance company check your driving record constantly?

they share info & your licence would get suspended if you didn't pay, but i dont know about the points & they update the record constantly

If Caught with Expired Inspection Sticker in MA?

If you get caught with an expired inspection sticker in MA, does it add points to your license and thus increase your car insurance rate?

Also, do cops have any way of detecting an expired inspection sticker if your car is moving and you don't get pulled over? For example, do they have any kind of radar that they can bounce off your car and detect an expired inspection sticker?

Thanks

It does add points to your license. The only way that they can find an expired sticker, though, is to pull you over and physically notice it (don't worry, there's no special technology used).

Praises Aired for Ex-Massachusetts Insurance Commissioner « Auto ...

Insurance companies , government officials, and national organizations hailed Massachusetts Insurance Commissioner Nonnie Burnes for the changes she introduced to the auto insurance industry. State Gov. Deval Patrick recently announced that Burnes would step down to pursue a teaching career at Northeastern University.

Burnes finished her law degree at the said university and became the state’s insurance commissioner in February 2007. During her term, she introduced a new car insurance scheme which ushered in more providers, increasing competition, which eventually led to cheaper auto insurance coverage . Burnes’ firm decision to abolish the state-set rating system draw flak from conservatives and Republican lawmakers. Critics of her program said that by allowing insurers to set insurance rates, residents in Massachusetts may have to actually pay more. Supporters of the new scheme, on the other hand, cited the influx of several new providers, resulting in competitive prices.

Luciole Press Blog: Geography makes a difference in health coverage

As two of the area's largest employers.

Green attributed the large numbers of uninsured in his inner-city district to low-paying jobs where employers don't provide insurance, and even if they do, employees often can't afford the high co-payments.

"We've been trying to hold a finger in the dike," Green said.

In between these extremes are the .

The reasons for the geographic disparities boil down to state policies, types of jobs and demographics.

Eligibility for Medicaid, the federal health program for poor families managed by states, varies between states: Some are more generous than others. In Massachusetts' case, lawmakers mandated that virtually everyone in the state be insured or face steadily increasing fines, dropping the percentage of uninsured to 4.1 percent.
