When I try and get a quote for some cars on either Tesco or Direct line, it tells me they cant give me a quote online and il need to ring them. Also, the browser wont let me go back, so they make you close the window and type out another quote all over again! Why do they do this?
The car I want to insure is a Nissan Navara D22. I am guessing that its because its a commercial vehicle and they want to check if il be using it for commercial use. I am 18 and have had my licence for a year, and I will be the named driver on the policy, my dad being the main driver who has over 30 years NCB! I managed to get a quote for a new Navara, not the D22 version and that was about £1990. How much do you think the D22 will be? Do you think they might class it as a van and not insure me because im under 21?

I'm trying to get auto and renter's insurance and I do not understand why my credit score is brought down because of this. Can't they tell I'm not our trying to get several credit cards or lines of credit or loans? How can this be dealt with and changed or stopped? If this is going to happen, how will my credit look in two years when I am ready to buy a newer vehicle?
When someone runs your credit, you lose 4 points from the agency they use. When several people pull your credit within a set number of days, it is assumed that you are shopping and you lose only 1 point for each search after the first one. So if, in one day, 6 companies pull your credit from Equifax, you will lose 9 points from your Equifax score.
ok , so i do a quote on direct line for a car and it comes out as £900 fully comp I DO exactly the same quote but on compare the market and the cheapest quote is £1800 ,

I am about to purchase a 1997 Volvo 850R sedan from a private individual. I am in Indiana. I have never had my own car insurance, always being on my mom's plan while in high school and college. My mom has given me advice on what kind of plan to get, but I was wondering, is there a good or specific insurance company for someone like me? A male under 25 with a clean driving record and no tickets or violations? Does anyone have any good advice or horror stories from any specific car insurance company? What has worked best with you and your plan? I would like to get the insurance lined up by Tuesday or Wednesday, so any advice on where and how to go about it would be greatly appreciated.
One point to remember: your rates are based on what group you fall into. Single males under age 25 pay the highest premiums because that group has the highest risk. Keep your clean driving record with no tickets or violations - that will keep your premiums steady.
Go for a reputable firm (Allstate, State Farm, Geico, etc) and avoid the "Billy Bob Insurance and Lawn Care" firms, even if their rates are lower. You get what you pay for.
Unfortunately you fall into a high premium group, so VERY important to keep a clean driving record. If you start getting tickets and having accidents your rates will go SKY HIGH, considering you can get insurance at all.
And when you turn 26, call your insurance company and have your rates recalculated.
I havent found a quote on-line before, and am not keen on supplying all me personal informtion. Is this standard procedure when requestin a quote?
