Can get a car insurance in Ireland if I am using an international license?
IRELAND 2009---INSURANCE DISC PARTICULARS

I am planning to buy a car in ireland, and I posses a valid Indian license. How can I get an insurance for it? I have an appointment for drivers theory test next week. Any body please help.

For car insurance the best way to get a very good rate is do a rate comparison on auto policies. Make certain that you pick similar policies with the same deductibles, car model, zip code, etc so that all things are an accurate comparison.

What I usually recommend is an online comparison quote at http://www.lowratetoday.com since they have discount insurers and will give many quotes on car insurance polices.

How much is car Insurance in Ireland for me?

I want to buy a 1.6 1998 civic type-r (€11000), but am worried it will cost too much to insure. I can get insured on it as a named driver if needs be, but would prefer my own policy. I'm 22 with a full licence for 2 years and have 5 years named driver experience with nothing on my record. Where's the best place to get a quote? And if I do how much do you think it will be? (ballpark)

Your best bet is to call different auto insurance carriers and get a quote from them. They're the best answer for how much it will cost you, and they can tell you what parts of hte policy hou must have, and which parts you can skimp on due to how much you are able to pay. You could go online, but it's harder to figure out what you must have vs. what you don't.

Yes, It is a legal requirement in Ireland to have motor insurance if you want to drive your car in a public place and you must produce a current Certificate of Insurance to pay motor tax. In 1933 this figure was set at £15,000. The Road Traffic Act, 1961 (which is currently...

Car insurance clampdown for drivers in Northern Ireland

Motorists in Northern Ireland who do not have car insurance face being fined £100 or having their vehicle seized and destroyed, the government's minister for road safety has revealed.

As part of a crackdown on uninsured car owners in Northern Ireland and across the rest of the UK, new measures introduced by Paul Clark will make it an offence to keep a vehicle that is not covered.

The minister explained that uninsured and untraced drivers kill 160 people and injure 23,000 each year, while uninsured driving adds around £30 to every motorist's premium.

Commenting on the new legislation, Money Supermarket's Steve Sweeney said the plans mark "a real wake-up call" for drivers across Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK who may be tempted to save cash by going without car insurance .
