How many college credits do I need to keep my car insurance with my parents?

I have Hartford insurance! HELP!! Or at least point me in the right direction!!

Thanks!

For most insurance companies, as long as you are listed as a student in college, and a GPA of 3.0 or higher, the amount of credits doesn't matter.

What does matter, is your age. Most companies will change your 'class' from underage driver to regular rate when you hit a certain age. 21 for females, and 25 for male.

On my father's car policy, is very ill, can it be transferred to my name when he dies?

Okay - my father is terminally ill. He has AARP The Hartford car insurance. I am on the policy as a driver. He wants to know, when he dies, will they just transfer the policy to me, or will they make me get my own policy (which I have never held) and raise my rates?

You are merely a second driver on his policy, it isn't your policy and you have no rights of ownership of the policy upon his death. When he dies, his policy will be void at that point and you will need to get your own policy to continue driving. I'd suggest you start looking now so there will be no gap in your coverage. Find an independent agent, give him all the information and let him find you something to cover you now. I'm assuming you are over the age of 18 and can get your own policy. If not, ask the agent about what to do in that case.

Adjudicated speeding citation: what happens to insurance in Florida?

My parents handle my car insurance (Hartford). Go to college in Miami. Parents also live in Miami. Got my 1st speeding ticket (38 mph in a 30 mph zone), took the class, had the citation adjudicated/cleared.
Would rather not have my parents find out. A) Will the insurance show my driving record or citation history to my parents? B) Does Florida law allow ANY charges to insurance after points have been cleared?

For car insurance the easiest way to get a low quote is do a policy comparison. Be sure to choose the same coverage levels, you can get an quick quote to compare against others. Use the same coverage area, car make and model, mileage and driving history to make sure you get an apples to apples comparison. To get mulitple auto insurance quotes, go to http://www.multipleautoinsurancequotes.c om/Florida-Car-Insurance-Quotes.html and you can compare all the major auto insurance companies.

Do I need to let my insurance company know that I won't be renewing my policy?

I have decided to switch car insurance companies (from The Hartford to Geico). I would like to start my new Geico policy the day my policy with The Hartford expires. Do I need to call The Hartford and tell them that I won't be renewing my policy, or should I just let it expire.

To be safe, call them. You don't want them to have some bizarre cancellation fee or something. That's probably not the case, but just for piece of mind I would do it. Now with that said, don't let them con you into renewing it with them. You have no obligation.

car insurance?

i was parked in a mall parking lot and when i came back my bumper had a crack in it? can i report it to my insurance company (the hartford) and say what happened will it be covered...
also will my insurace premiums go up?

First off contact the police dept to file a report for hit, and run.. That is more, or less what it would be.. Most likely your insurance company will require a report because then it shows you weren't at fault.. Now if the police won't file it for you. Then you have the right to file a self accident report either at the pd, or via internet.. If you have collision coverage on your policy then you can file a claim under that with your insurance.. I would also recommend getting an estimate first to see if the damages would be more, or less than your ded... As far as premiums go as long as there is a report that shows it wasn't your fault then your rates shouldn't go up.. The only time your rates should go up is if your in an accident, are at fault, and the damages to the other person are more than a grand, if there less than a grand then rates will stay the same... If your in an accident, and are NOT at fault damages could be 1 dollar to ten grand , and rates should stay the same.. Unless of course your accident prone, and have like 20 claims a year then they may still go up...

Home Sales Drop 2.7 Percent - Money News Story - WFSB Hartford

WASHINGTON -- Home resales dipped unexpectedly last month after a four-month streak of gains, providing evidence that the U.S. housing market recovery remains fragile.

The National Association of Realtors said Thursday that sales dropped 2.7 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.1 million in August, from a pace of 5.24 million in July.

Sales, which were still up 3.4 percent from a year earlier, had been expected to rise to an annual pace of 5.35 million, according to economists surveyed by Thomson Reuters.

"We suspect it is just a temporary blip in the improving trend rather than a sign of renewed weakness," wrote Paul Dales, U.S. economist at Capital Economics.

New Jobless Claims Drop Unexpectedly To 530K - Money News Story ...

WASHINGTON -- The number of newly laid-off Americans seeking unemployment benefits fell for the third straight week, evidence that layoffs are continuing to ease in the earliest stages of an economic recovery.

The Labor Department said Thursday that initial claims for unemployment insurance dropped to a seasonally adjusted 530,000 from an upwardly revised 551,000 the previous week. Wall Street economists expected claims to rise by 5,000, according to a survey by Thomson Reuters.

Fewer layoffs "would be an important sign of improvement ... lessening the critical threat to consumer spending -- and to the overall economy -- represented by falling employment," Pierre Ellis, an economist...
