Geiko Car Insurance

I want to know from someone who has Geiko car insurance if they like it. I currently have Nationwide, and though I love them, I can get car insurance from Geiko for $40 cheaper a month. I am a college student and with only being able to work certain hours and the expense of college $40 is a lot of money to be. At the same time I want to make sure I get insurance from a company I can get in touch with if I have problems. Thanks for any help!

I have Geiko and they are awesome.. You will love them! I am also a college student and I save 55 dollars a month with them! The first thing I did was make the infamous "GEIKO CALL" so I understand where you coming from

Better in what terms? To me the better one is the cheapest one. But what's cheaper for me might not be cheaper for you so the question is a bit vague.

Those commercials make me laugh most of the time...and I would like to see the guy doing the voice for him....but is the point coming across for you to want to buy the insurance...lol....thanks for takin the time.

Actually, it's a pretty good marketing campaign. Last year I switched over since their rates were lower than others - I probably wouldn't have even known who they were without the gecko thingy.

Typically, insurance rates will vary from State to State and can even vary by ZIPCODE!

The best thing to do is call a LOCAL independent agent. Don't go across town, or to some other city - look for someone CLOSE. Just look in the phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you will find a professional licensed agent that will be able to help you solve your insurance problems, and give you rate comparisons of several different companies.

An independent insurance agent will normally have a dozen different companies and if he cannot help you, he should be networked with other local agents that can.

Most of the replies on this site say "go to this on-line carrier or that on-line carrier or that 1-800 number" but I'm sure that when you do, you will find some impersonal computer user with a script to work from and you won't be able to talk with the same person everytime you have a problem!

So...if GEICO cost you MORE money....WHY did you stay? Did they give you any reasoable explanation? What I have clients tell me that have gone because they "got a better deal" is that the give you a quote based on a clean driving record or what you tell them is on your record. You give them credit card info or bank info, they issue the policy and then they have normally 60 days to "underwrite" the policy - run all their background reports and make up their mind if they want to keep you and at what cost.....then, the price goes up.

Find you a local agent, get your policy started and call the caveman and tell him to choke the lizard! Cancel the policy only after you have a replacement in place!
