If you are aged less than 21, expect your insurance to be somewhere around £1500 - £1750 :-(

Take the Passplus if you haven't already and that should shave off about a third of that.

You can save some more money by not taking legal protection insurance or insuring third party fire and theft. However, personally I have always tried to insure Fully Comprehensive and taking the protection insurance as the help you get in the event of an accident is much better.

Another way to get the cost down is to name your mum or dad on the policy as an additional driver.

Firstly do not check your local insurance companies like geico or safe auto, they suck big time, they normally charge 3 times more than other companies. Check www.insurance.com they will run your credentials through about 25 different insurance companies and tell you the top 5 cheapest. I was quoted $130 a month full coverage on an Audi A6. After going to insurance.com I got full coverage for $43.00 a month from Encompass..Yes you heard correct.

My 1996 Ford Taurus just died on me this past weekend........the engine is gone. My question is, since I cannot afford to pay to get a new one, should I just let my insurance coverage go, and if I do, will I get anything from my insurance being that I had full coverage on my car? And if I can't get anything from the insurance, would it be best if I just go ahead and sell the rest of the parts that are still good on the car and make at least some kind of profit from that?

If you let insurance lapse, you will pay more next time. Cancel insurance yourself and turn in plate until you get a new car. Insurance will not pay anything because that is not what insurance is or does. Junkyard may tow and give you 50.00-100.00 for parts.

They had several links. All I did was feel out their quote request and received back a lot
better rates then what I was paying.
