OK so I got a speeding ticket last night & I'm debating on telling my parents or not. Will our insurance (kemper) get notified or not. By the way I'm only 17 & i was driving my moms car. All i wanna know is will the police notify my parents or insurance company. Thx
The police don't notify your insurance company. They put it on your record and the insurance company reviews your record each time your policy is up for renewal...normally every 6-12 months. If your parents have not been notified yet, they probably will not be by the police. However they will find out about the ticket when their insurance is up for renewal.

A unique (perhaps?) situation: I have a Washington State driver's license. I got a speeding ticket two years ago in Massachusetts (and paid it). I was driving someone else's car when I received the ticket. I now live in Connecticut and am about to switch car insurance companies. Given the multiple states I've mentioned above, how likely is it that a CT insurance agent will find out about my fairly recent ticket? Thanks for your help!
There is a pretty good chance they will find out but that's not 100% guaranteed. There is a national driver registry and if Massachusetts reported you ticket to them then the information is available.r
Do i need to contact an insurance company first or the DMV?
You need to show proof of insurance to register a car in CT, so the insurance company is where you need to start.

Connecticut Attorney General is getting after those practices in the car insurance industry where the insurance providers deny consumers a choice in car repair. While the probe is underway the car insurance providers dismissed AG's claim saying owners still have a choice in where they can repair their cars. They simply offer consumers "additional options." Here is what the CT Attorney general released about the probe.
