I recently had a car accident and the insurance company of the other person now wants me to pay the damage. What happens if I just ignore them, keep travelling and then leave Australia for good without paying a cent to the insurance. What will happen? Will my bad credit record in Australia follow me to Germany? Will I be stopped at the border? Will they try to get the money from me in Germany?

Wife just got a drivers license, she got quoted for $2000/year, but when they asked if she was licensed in a different country, she said yes, since she was 26 years old, she is now 33. and That alone dropped the premium to $1000 a year. The car is already insured and has been for several years. I had in certified when I first got the car and it's first insurance policy with me. I have moved and am in a part of the country my insurance company does not cover and am in need of a new company. Do I have to have my car inspected and certified by a mechanic before hand?

I m confused about that issue! In my country (cyprus) car insurance companies only pay for your damages to cars or environment. Your health insurance cover the medical expenses. I think it is different in here USA...
In the US it depends on the wording of the insurance contract as to who pays first. You should contact both insurance companies and file claims. They will work it out between them as to who pays. If youi dont have auto insurance, your health insurance should pay for your injuries.
