Chrysler Car Insurance

I'd like to know because my cousin wants one and shes trying to convince her mom its not a sports car, but her mom thinks it is simply because it has only two doors.

Since it is a mid-size car it might not be considered a sports car unless the insurance companies classify convertibles as sports cars. But at her age the insurance rate would he very high. It also depends on what motor is in it, the bigger motor the faster the car

He doesn't deserve it either. My son has been living with his dad for the past 2 years. He get horrible grades and has no responsibility none whatso ever. They are asking me to look into how much it would be for insurance on my plan. So anyone have any ideas?
I know it will be alot. I want to get the info to show that it is tooooo much.
I am totally against this idea of him getting a new car and I will not have it on my insurance. I agree, he lives with his dad, his dad is going to have to put it on his policy.

If the car is in his name then it will be a bunch of money.

If it is in one of your names, and he is not listed as the principle driver, then it will still be a fair amount but not near as bad as having the car in his name.

The boy needs to be listed as the principle driver on the worst car that you have. By that, I mean the oldest and cheapest car that you own.

It must be nice to be 16 and have a new car. It took me a long time to get mine, and it was a cheap one to boot, but I paid for it by myself and that was a good feeling.

Just hopes he doesn't wreck it, or your insurance will hit the roof. good luck

I bought a new 2009 Toyota, and traded in my 2003 Chrysler. When I went to my insurance, my premium was lowered by $100.00 for the year. Normally a newer car is more to insure than an older car. Any suggestions as to why my premium went down?
Extra info. I'm 32, married, my husband and I have not had any tickets, or accidents. I had a sebring, and bought a yaris.

This can sometimes happen for a number of reasons...
1) the Toyota is safer and maybe the engine is smaller than the Chrysler
2) you might or might not of went up in age (not sure if you have or haven't) If you have and you are a female if you've went from say 20 to 21 that would lower your rate... or if you went from 24 to 25 you are now considered an adult and get an adult rate.
If you are under 25, and recently got married you get an adult rate. If you have recently turned 50 this would also cause a discount to your insurance.
3) most companies give discounts with them for years
4) something may or may not have fallen off your driving record
Sooo many different things factor into your insurance so you might just want to call them out of curiousity to know what it was that made it go down. : ) I know you're a happy camper.

I tried doing quotes but it asks for too much information. I dont wanna keep receiving calls from car insurance places annoying me to get it with them. I have a 1998 Chrysler Intrepid. Dodge i think? Doesnt Dodge own Chrysler? whatever, thats what it says on my registration.

Insurance cost is going to depend a lot on your driving record, and your previous insurance history. If you currrently do not have insurance, you will be considered to be a high risk. If you have any points on your license, or previeous claims, you again are a high risk.

In MD there is an insurance compay of last resort called the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund. They were established by the state govenment when the manditory insurance law was passed, and they are required to insure any driver. They are extremely expensive, because they are covering the highest risk drivers.

Your car is a Dodge. Dodge is part of Chrysler.

Without knowing your history, it is just a guess as to the cost of insurance. As a young person, your rates will be high, but your record will deternine if you can get insured by a lower cost company, or by MAIF.
