Here are some tips to save some money on your auto insurance:
Ask about good drivers discounts, good student discounts, anti-theft device discounts, multiple vehicles discounts, try a higher deductible, annual premium payments, lower physical damage coverage limits on older vehicles, and get your home and auto insurance with the same insurer - this could save you up to 15% more.
I recommend InsureMe – They give you the five best auto insurance quotes from top-rated auto insurers nationwide. To request a free, no obligation quote, Go to http://www.insureme.com/landing.aspx?Ref by=613596&Type=auto
I hope that helps! Take care and best of luck with your auto insurance!

I had a minor accident with a lightly scratched bumper and the other car getting a little dent on the door. My premiums have suddenly gone up almost 25% from about $85 to $105!. I am shocked at this because my deductible is pretty high $500and the cost of the repairs was less than $2000 dollars. This is the first incident i have had...I need advise on my options, should i leave my insurance company and find another? Are there any recommendations? I live in silver spring, Md and work in washington dc. I am very disappointed, please advise. Thank you
I reviewed the estimate and it cost less than 1100 to fix my car and less my deductible it was $566!! The other guys car's dent was so minor it could not possibly cost even 150 to fix, I think this is extreme and am quite shocked at the degree of the hike
If your not happy with the service or the premium then by all means, shop around. Even though your loss was less than $2000, the insurance company still has the right to take that into consideration when factoring your premium. Thats called a loss threshold. Most states have a threshold of $750-$1000. That means any loss above that can be considered when they factor your premium. I know this because I'm an Insurance agent. I may sound like I'm on the company's side but I'm not. I don't agree with the increase if they have been a good customer with a GOOD driving history. I suggest that you call your Insurance company again and ask them to review the premium increase, provided you have a GOOD driving record and payment history. Hope this helps.
I was driving 12-15 miles over the speed limt in dc about 8pm at night. They sent me a ticket and said I need to pay. I was driving my dads car. Will this infraction affect him as well as me. We live in virginia though. In the camera shot you cant even see my head. Will they contact the driver or insurance company.

I have just the liability insurance, so I cannot get any help from my insurance company. My car is fixed in body shop and I don't have money to pay the car mechanic to get it back. Her insurance company is not committing anything. They are waiting for final claim from one more car she banged. What should I do? They didn't even agree to pay for rental.
Is it safe to pay the car mechanic from my own pocket and later get the money from her car insurance company?
Should I go to a lawyer? If yes, recommend me a good and cheap lawyer in and around washington DC?
Can I sue the other person for my entire damage? Or both, her insurance company and her? as they didn't even agree to pay for my car rental, and also not paying for my car damages.
Can I claim for the car depreciation due to this accident from the other person?
just remind them that under the absolute liability clause they are resonsible to cover the repair.they dont expect people to know about the clause
Is this true and why are they not being stopped? I was wondering to ............ how are illegals getting registration and insurance on cars when they are illegal.
There is a car dealership locally that gives loans to illegals. I will no longer give them my business.
The illegals here in my town go by the car loads to Wash DC when they get traffic tickets and so forth and then get off by our courts here. I am curious to what the hell they are doing.
The reason it makes me angry is because they have no way to track them with there fake documents so in return my health insurance, hospital prices, interest rates and so forth go up because the illegals skip town with out pay.
cotajerk you are only talking about damn family. Your a hater just like I am with all the illegals. So I guess we are even. Sure glad we live in the USA and can speak our own mind. Grow up!
Tennessee and North Carolina used to give driver's licenses to illegals - I don't know if they still do. I think there were about 9 states that did. I think they only get insurance long enough to get a tag. Bank of America is giving them credit cards and mortgages.
Universal Coverage for…Car Insurance???
A few weeks ago, in the middle of the evening rush hour and during one of Washington, D.C.’s infamous summer rainstorms, I was side swiped. The fault was completely on the part of the driver that hit me. After this lovely woman insisted, while screaming at the top of her lungs, that the accident was my fault, we exchanged the necessary information. I looked down to the portion of the torn piece of paper where she had written her insurance information, and saw that she had listed a company called MAIF as her automobile insurer. I thought innocently,
When I got home I Googled “MAIF,” and was shocked at what came up. Turns out MAIF stands for the Maryland Auto Insurance Fund , which was, according to the Web site, “created by the Maryland State Legislature in 1972 for the purpose of providing automobile liability insurance for those residents of the State of Maryland who are unable to obtain it elsewhere in the private insurance market.” What does this mean? It means the state of Maryland has a government run and subsidized car insurance program for residents who have been priced out of the commercial auto insurance market. This usually happens due to drivers being involved in multiple car accidents, which causes insurance premiums to increase until they eventually become unaffordable. I’m not a resident of Maryland, and I’m a liberal who believes in big government, but I’d be pretty teed off if I knew that even one penny of my tax dollars was going directly or indirectly towards a program that seems to have been designed to help insure reckless drivers. I’m all for universal coverage when it comes to health insurance, but for car insurance - nope not on my dime.
...Where Will Banks Make Up Lost Overdraft Fees? - Money News Story ...
NEW YORK -- Banks are backing off harsh overdraft fees and policies. That's the good news. The bad news is they'll probably look to make up that lost profit elsewhere.
It's a worrisome prospect for the vast majority of customers who never overdraw their funds and have grown accustomed to perks like free checking accounts. "Banks are going to have to get creative. Rather than generic free checking accounts, you're going to see lots of different flavors of products," said Bob Meara, a senior analyst with Celent, a Boston-based consulting firm for the banking industry. That might mean the return of monthly fees or minimum balances for checking accounts, or the bundling of...News
