Car Insurance Rate in Malden, Massachusetts?

I got my licensed in Oct 2005 at age 21, and bought a new Camry 2007 in July 2006 . Right now the insurance send me the renew of insurance(ENCOMPASS Insurance) $3108. I wonder is that the lowest rate i can find?

* my record is clean , no accident, speeding or red light.
*the insurance also cover for my sister, father (czu they got their licensed 2-3yr before me)
* The insurance can cover up to 100K, $500 deductible

Rates are SET by the STATE in Massachusetts. There is no "competition".

So ANY company you go to should be charging the exact same rate, for the exact same coverage, unless you're with a "group" that's approved for a "group" discount (which is ALSO set by the state) - like a credit union.

new hampshire vs massachusetts car insurance?

Is New Hampshire auto insurance better then Massachusetts auto insurance rates?

Generally, yes, NH insurance rates are less than MA insurance rates. But, it also depends on where you live in each state & the company (there is now limited competition in MA). Also, MA is a PIP state & NH is NOT a PIP state, so there is less coverage in NH.
If you are moving to NH you will need to get a NH license, registration & insurance. If you are not moving & just want to get an address in NH to get insurance there, you can't. You have to sign a Residence Form stating you are actually a resident of NH & live there. It also states that you will notify your insurance as soon as you move out of state (at any time during the policy - even if it is years from the time you sign it). If you are really not a resident of NH and an accident occurs, the company WILL deny coverage & in essence, you were paying for a nonexistent policy.

What's a good website for comparing auto insurance rates in Massachusetts?

I don't feel like paying $2,000 for insurance on a car that's worth barely that, but I don't know where to find a better deal. Any good resources for comparing rates? I'm in Massachusetts.

the best way to compare and get the best you can is to call a local independent agent in your area. stay away from quoting yourself online unless you are an agent or REALLY understand insurance. most sites will come back with a different premium once you actually take out the policy and its usually not to your advantage. having an actual person locally is ALWAYS a good idea.

Getting Another Copy of Car Registration issues?

My car registration is paid up and up to date and the sticker on my license plate is still up to date. However I lost the new piece of paper that is supposed to go in my glovebox. I only have the old expired piece of registration paper. If I go to the local Massachusetts RMV office to get a new copy, will this raise my car insurance rates or put points on my license because they will know I've been driving with expired registration paperwork?

How may I obtain a duplicate registration?

You may go to the Duplicate Registration section in the Transaction Page and order a duplicate online. You may also call the RMV Telephone Center and a representative will process your transaction. To complete this transaction, you will need a MasterCard, Visa or Discover.

No, it will have absolutely zero effect on your insurance rates.

Praises Aired for Ex-Massachusetts Insurance Commissioner « Auto ...

Insurance companies , government officials, and national organizations hailed Massachusetts Insurance Commissioner Nonnie Burnes for the changes she introduced to the auto insurance industry. State Gov. Deval Patrick recently announced that Burnes would step down to pursue a teaching career at Northeastern University.

Burnes finished her law degree at the said university and became the state’s insurance commissioner in February 2007. During her term, she introduced a new car insurance scheme which ushered in more providers, increasing competition, which eventually led to cheaper auto insurance coverage . Burnes’ firm decision to abolish the state-set rating system draw flak from conservatives and Republican lawmakers. Critics of her program said that by allowing insurers to set insurance rates, residents in Massachusetts may have to actually pay more. Supporters of the new scheme, on the other hand, cited the influx of several new providers, resulting in competitive prices.

Massachusetts – Factors that Affect Auto Insurance Rates « Auto ...

Many people assume that car insurance rates are set by states and companies and there is no point in shopping around or negotiating prices. However, that is never the case when it comes to finding the best deals on auto insurance . Most folks in Massachusetts would be surprised to find that the premiums they pay on their vehicles are significantly different from their neighbor down the street. This article will explain some of the factors that affect car insurance rates in Massachusetts so you can be a savvier shopper for your own insurance policy .

The Driver

The holder of the car insurance policy has a lot to do with the amount of premiums he pays. For example, younger men tend to pay much higher rates than younger women, because they are seen as a greater risk in terms of moving violations and accidents. By the same token, older women generally have higher premiums than older men. Another factor affecting your premiums is your driving record, which is probably a no-brainer for most insurance shoppers. However, did you know your credit history can also impact how much you pay for coverage? Those with stellar credit are also seen as lower risk drivers on the road.  Students who are making top grades are also seen as a lower risk for the same reason.
