Insurance Claim Lookup... Can I Do That?

I recently went online to USAA to get a car insurance quote, and they claim my husband had a wreck in May of 2003, which he didn't. The only thing I can figure is his ex wife had one about that time, she almost totaled the car! They had insurance thru State Farm. He is over seas and cannot call USAA or State Farm to mess around with this, and they won't talk to me. Is there a way I can look up an old insurance claim to verify that it was his ex's accident before I try and move forward?
From the info on USAA website it was filed under his name, no where is her name. The bodily damage was 6K and property was 2K. Wouldn't it say her name somewhere?

Try getting a police report first.

Can I insure two cars in two states on one policy? USAA insurance.?

Can I have a car in Hawaii and a car in Florida insured on the same policy? I have USAA insurance for my car in Hawaii but I'm going back to Florida soon and when I try to quote my truck in Florida it quotes it for Hawaii. I am going back to Florida soon and need to insure my truck but I need to keep the car in Hawaii insured for my boyfriend. Is it going to work or will I need to change something? Right now the policy for the truck is in my mom's name but since I will be the driver I figured I need my name in the insurance, is that true?

Nope, and shop around, I have vehicles registered in both Fla & PA and needed different policies. Just add yourself to Moms policy

lowest insurance quotes in Illnois?

I was homeless for about 18 months and did not have car insurance so I only drove my car "sparingly". Now I am being penalized severely for not having insurace for that time. Prior to that I was with USAA Insurance for 20+ years. I've searched and searched and everyone out there wants to charge me over $1,000/yr for coverage for my 2004 saturn vue. Any advice? I am over 50, no tickets/no accidents - excellent driving record but this has no bearings once insurance has lapsed. Cannot go back to USAA right away because I am now on SSD and cannot afford it. I just paid my car off and it is worth about $7,500 and has under 40K miles so cannot affort not to have insurance - too risky and I need to buy a policy today. Just getting back on my feet, and man is it hard out here.

You just have to shop around. Every company likely has their own way to calculate rates so 1 person might get cheaper rates than another in 1 place but change 1 thing (city or company) and you could get the opposite results.

Places like Progressive will give you their price and other companies price. I'd still check with those companies just to confirm the numbers but when I did it they were pretty accurate. When lived in Michigan All State was the best price I could get. I moved to Ohio and Progressive was the best price.

Home insurance. Is this good enough?

purchase price of house 362,300
approved loan 290,000
sq ft. 2100
brick/siding
house built 1964
electrical and plumbing updated
2/1 bath
no basement
not in flood plain
2 car garage/3 beds

USAA quote:

Dwelling 202,000
Personal Property 151,000
loss of use Unlimited
personal liability 100,000
medical payments to others 1,000
deductible of 500.00
fire burglary credit 75,41
PREMIUM 457.52 a yr.

Should I ask to increase my dwelling (202,000) enough to cover loan amount or will my lender agree? I need to lock this in today and that is the only thing i'm worried about. If my lender will take this home insurance... pls. give me some positive inputs...

The dwelling coverage should cover the REPLACEMENT cost of the house. Which for my house is twice as much as the property is assessed.

If your insurance agent is recommending you insure your dwelling at that amount I guess it's okay. If you are trying to pay less, there are stipulations in which you may not be fully covered.
(EG. if this is the case) If your replacement value is 700,000 and you're only insuring 202,000, you're only insuring 29% of what's recommended. If something happens to your house and does $100,000 worth of damage, the insurnace company may only cover $29,000 of that.

Make sure you're getting fully covered.

How can I get a fair settlement out of the CCC for my totalled car?

My 1996 Acura RL was hit and totalled by a negligent driver who feel asleep at the wheel. He admitted 100% fault, so his insurance companie(USAA) already accepted liability for my claim. USAA uses the CCC for determining the value of wrecked cars. I read a lot of bad stuff about how dishonest their practices are. I am in the process of waiting for them to call me back with their first quote, which I expect to be a low-ball offer, from what I have read about them. My car's total value was over 6,000.00 as it had chrome rims, and a bunch of extras. I had the Acura Premimum version as well in mint condition with pretty low miles. All that aside, the appraiser for the insurance company told me that they dont pay you "book" value for your car. He said they pay you for what it's actually worth, but I don't believe that after reading about their dishonest practices of the CCC. I am wondering if showing them any book values will even help since he said they dont go by book values...? The good thing is that the appraiser was honest and rated my car in above average condition for everything (he said it was all "add-ons") and he went through my list of extensive options and features that my car had. I am wondering what I can do with this specific company (CCC) and if anyone else out there has any experience with them and are they usually fair with their offers? I won't accept any less than 5,000.00 for my car, and I'm worried they may try to offer me less for it....
Any tips or suggestions to get a higher offer from the CCC? (I am still waiting on their 1st offer...) Anyone ever got a FAIR 1st offer from them? (When I say "fair" I mean exactly what your car is worth...in my instance it would be 6 grand)
thanks man...I will do that because there are NO car lots which have my car for sale within 50 miles so i will talk to the dealers myself to make sure they arent lying to them. To the other guy, of course i am worried, and then if you are right i wont accept less than 4500...because that is the absoulte lowest value of the car. Like i said, the car was in MINT condition and had all the extras. The CCC is supposed to use these when determining the value....

USAA is just about the best, most fair company out there. I haven't come across any better.

I got hit by a USAA insured, and they were FINE by me.

You're only going to get the actual cash value of your car, though, it's not RETAIL. It's going to be pretty close to the private party sale value, at www.kbb.com, and a 96 Acura, it's going to be worth around $4300 not counting "add ons", which you'll have to cough up receipts for. And, btw, paying $800 for chrome wheels doesn't increase the value by $800 - more like $200.

You are certainly welcome to not accept that offer. But there's NO WAY USAA is going to give you $6,000 on a $4300 car. They probably won't even counteroffer.

So, then you'll have to sue the driver, and try to prove to a judge, why your car is worth $6,000 - not retail, but used. And USAA WILL have documentation to show it's worth $4300, used, private party sale, I promise.

And that's the most you'll get - used, private party sale value. Because that's all it's worth. Sorry.

Insurance Quotes Online: Amica Insurance and USAA Insurance - A ...

Amica will give you good quotes for your car insurance but will often quote you on the state minimum instead of the average coverage which is $100,000. If you have an accident and only carry the state minimum insurance, you may be underinsured. In such a case, if judgment is for more money, you can be personally liable to have to pay more money in a lawsuit. When you get a quote from Amica Insurance, make sure that you understand the insurance coverage that you are getting. Very often, when you get a quote from Amica Insurance, you can also get a quote from the USAA Insurance company. Both of these companies are considered to be good companies to go with if you are looking for discount insurance....

Amica and USAA Insurance - Comparison

Two car insurance companies that can give you good rates on auto policies are Amica Insurance and USAA Insurance. Both are sold by insurance brokers who also sell other products but you can also get car quotes directly from them online.

Both Amica and USAA are considered to be second rate insurance companies that will give you good coverage for less, but not the personalized service that you would get if you went with a larger or more popular insurance provider. That may sound as a minus point for these companies but really, during these tough times, it's exactly what most people need!
