I have a car and have taken Auto insurance for it.
Now my question is if i take a rental car, then my auto insurance policy for my car covers it or i need to take separate insurance for the rental car? When i took the auto insurance policy, they have taken my car details and its present in the insurance card also.
If i need to take insurance for rental car, what type of insurance do i need to take excluding my auto insurance policy coverage that applies to all cars?
Also if i am driving someone else car, will my insurance cover if there is any accident i have made?
When you rent a car, you have to have full coverage on the care that you own (your personal vehicle) and then that will automatically carry over to the rental. If you do not have full coverage you can add it to your existing policy for the amount of time you'll be renting the car OR just buy the insurance from the rental place. And to answer your other question, no your policy will not cover somebody else's car just because you're driving it. Insurance covers vehicles, NOT people, even if you were in an at fault accident, your friend/relative's insurance would have to cover that loss. Try this site to find the best car insurance

The car insurance policy is automatically renewed. The driver forgot to report to the insurance company that he had a speeding conviction before the renew date. Does that mean he has made his policy invalid and would not protected by the policy at all?
If your insurance company called you on renewal and asked you if you had any new tickets or traffic violations and you specifically said no knowing you did that could cause you problems, but if they didnt call you and you did get one you can always tell them. Working for an insurance company for years now i know we would never void a policy if they didnt report a violation to us. Not only is it bad business practice but when you think about it they could possibly be collecting more premium for your conviction then they would be to cancel you. I would give them a call and tell them you did get one and I wouldnt worry to much, just always be honest with them because they have the right to pull your driving record and they will call you on your non disclosure if you said no. But dont be to worried and good luck.

My current car insurance policy runs out at the end of the month and I will not be renewing with them. I am getting a new car approx 2 weeks before the expiry date. Can i start the insurance with another company and 'overlap' the insurance ?
You CAN do that since you are changing anyway.
You might want to notify your PRIOR insurance company once you have the NEW coverage in force - just to avoid any duplication of coverage and any "earned premium." If the company automatically renews and you don't inform them, they might try to collect for the time you had coverage in force.
Just show them a copy of your NEW policy and they will cancel the old.
That's the way it SHOULD be done. Try this site to find the best car insurance

Hello, I am a 23 yr old female, and have never had my own car insurance policy. My car is paid off, but still in my mom's name, with my name on there as well. I have been trying to get my own policy, since she is going to sign the car over to me, but I can't find anything reasonable. I'm paying 65 dollars a month for the policy to be in her name, and I need to stick to that price range. Any suggestions?
You probably aren't going to be able to find anything comparable to what you have now.
You are getting discounts and credits under your current policy that you won't get on your own.
Look around to your local independent agents (those that represent several different companies). They will be able to give you several different prices to choose from.
Be sure to tell these folks that while you haven't had a policy of your own, you have been listed as a driver on your mom's policy (assuming that is the truth) and therefore have been insured. The company will want proof, so be sure to get a copy of your mom's policy with you isted as a driver. Otherwise, the insurance company will charge you more for not having continuous coverage.
I live in California while my family lives in Utah. I have been on my family policy and about a year ago I registered my car here in CA. CA requires insurance (which I have, but in UT). My family is still paying for my insurance but the license plate listed is my old Utah plate but I am unsure if that counts now that I have CA plates. Does anybody know details behind this?
as long as the insurance company shows the car is registered in CA you should be fine. You should be getting CA ID cards as well as Utah id cards. I recommend you call the Dmv to be sure that will work in your state but I do insurance work in your state and never seen it to be a problem.
