I Switched car insurance recently finding a much better deal on a comparison site (£255 saving compared to Aviva)
Bought another car and surprised to find Aviva were offering the cheapest deal so I insured it with them!
Recently got a letter from them saying that they wanted to see proof of 5 years no claims bonus and I told them that they insured our car for 5 years and they have the proof in their system!
Oh that does not count as you have used the 5 years discount in your other car! (new insurer)
Q: If you have 5 years no claims bonus (no accidents or claims) are you only allowed to use it on 1 car?
Yes - it's the Policy (and not the person) that builds up the No-Claims-Bonus.
2 cars - 2 policies - each earning its own individual No-Claims-Bonus.
Incidentally, I have been with NU for four years and found them extremely competitive.

A friend needs a quote on car insurance. He has just passed his test and is about to buy his first car. All details can be provided to find a rough estamate before he purchases car insurance from yourselves.
Guess your "friend" better ask Norwich Union.
Call them and ask them..
I'm thinking of getting insurance with Norwich Union on my parents' car. They are with esure, who do not accept drivers under 25. I was wondering if it was possible to get a policy with Norwich Union, with my parents as additional drivers, and not have it affect their own insurance. Thanks.
You can only have a single policy on a car.
So you would either have to cancel their policy or have them change insurers and you don't take out a policy yourself.
If you think about it, if there was an accident then which company would be responsible for it??
OK but Churchill are good. Depends on your circumstances really.
Finance And Business | Car Insurance - How Big a Risk is a Woman ...
Gender-specific car insurance does not give added benefits according to non-specialist insurers. They maintain that companies like Sheilas Wheels are simply innovative advertising campaigns targeted at female drivers. Craig Martin from Norwich Union says that although women drivers are a lower risk, a standard policy offers many practical benefits, which outweigh the additional gimmicks offered by specialist insurers.
Moreover, there comes a point when insurance for women becomes just as expensive as that for men. The AA quotes the case of a Ford Focus being driven in Cambridgeshire, for which the insurance for a woman, aged 55, was 257.65 pounds and for a man 252.52 pounds.
