I have a friend and she is worried sick. She recently got into a car accident in Minneapolis, MN, it was NOT her fault and she was not the driver either, but it was her car and she was a passenger. The person that hit her, their insurance paid for all the damages. Although, she did not have car insurance on her car at the time and now she has to attend court here in Sept. Does anyone know what could happen to her at this court date without having car insurance at the time of the accident??
Unfortunately for your friend, MN is one of the states with a financial responsibility laws. Your friend will most likely have to pay a fine.
