I received a no insurance ticket on a car we had just gotten. I ended up not keeping the car. I bought a new vehicle and have had insurance for 2 qtrs i put the 150 bond up if i go to court will they put me in jail if i don't have the rest of the money... or will they drop the charges?
If you had a car previously, and the car you got the ticket in was new, chances are your insurance rolls over to the new car until it can be set up on your account. Take all the documents with you to court and you should be able to get out of the ticket all together. I have GEICO and that is exactly what it says on the back of my insurance card.

I currently live in the suburbs of kansas city, and it is impossible to live without a car the public transportation sucks, everything some things are close but most are ten miles away, and the sidewalks and such are non existent in some areas. I have a car now and hate driving, even more hate paying for gas and insurance, where are some good cities to live in without a car. Cities that have good public transportation and arent crazy expensive like NY or LA.
Also if I move I dont want to move to a cold enviroment.

Mexican leaders in Garden City, Kansas are holding a meeting this week or early next to discuss their concerns with their people over a new (?) city ordinance that makes it illegal to drive without a license or insurance subject to fines and even jail after the 6th conviction of driving without a license or insurance. The police are going to be cracking down on this. The leaders are concerned about the huge number of illegals that are driving around that are (because they are illegal) without a license or insurance and they are concerned this is not a fair ordinance. Can someone please explain to me why I have to fork over money for a license and car insurance here in Oklahoma or I get a ticket, and they, for some reason, feel that this is an unreasonable hardship on "their people"?
its just another example of special rights by "human rights" activists who don't give a damn about people breaking the law...they shouldn't be exempt from any law...

Not a lot of money.
Starting over .
Prices on both coasts are too crazy.
Is there decent work there?
Car insurance high/low?
Racially / lifestyle diversity?
Homophobic?
Any info greatly appreciated
I posted this response to another open question earlier, but may be useful to you as well. I included additional information at the bottom answering questions that you had asked. Like I have said before, this is my opinion, not factual.
64108 - Midtown.
64105 - Downtown
64101 - River Market
64110 - Westport
In my opinion the Plaza is over rated. I like Crossroads. Very gay friendly. I live in a small loft community, 7 units, and 4 of 7 are gay, male and female. I just moved here from the east coast and it seems OK so far. The city seems deserted after 6pm, except for "First Friday's". But it beats living in the burbs. The burbs seem flavorless and filled with strip malls and horrible architecture. Unfortunately the schools suck ass in MO, so private or Johnson Co is the way to go if you have kids. Personally I am not a big fan of spending countless hours going to WalMart and Home Depot to play in my yard on overly hot weekends. I would rather enjoy cocktails and weekend trips to the lake.
People will claim that downtown is crime infested. Sure KC has it's ghetto spots. But so does every other city?? Not to mention most victims know their assailants in violent crime...
So to summarize:
KC is OK, kinda slow. You can find stuff to do, but requires some bit of effort, depending where you are from.
River Market and Crossroads are definitely your best places for "gay friendly" atmosphere. Plaza is too expensive and too crowded and too straight... You will get more for your money in Crossroads and River Market.
Westport is decent. This is the cities claim to bar and club district... It needs some help, again just my opinion and it depends where you are moving from. it is a bunch of college kids who have no where else to go drink, YAWN... They claim that the bars close at 2am, more like 6pm...
Car insurance is higher from where I relocated from. So needless to say I have not changed my tags.
There are a lot of homophobic people here. just drive out I-70 to Denver and count all of the God signs along your way... Kinda scary! But in the neighborhoods mentioned above, they are the most diverse and open minded.
Definite racial division here. The city is pretty much split down the middle. It is pretty sad that the city is famous for Jazz and they do a horrible job promoting and advertising it. Why you ask? Because jazz is one of the only true American art forms and it was invented by primarily African American musicians. There are a lot of white people, especially on the KS side of State Line Rd.
There is decent work here. Depends what industry you are looking for. Hallmark, Sprint, H&R Block, Quintiles, Harley Davidson, and IRS are big employers to name a few...
Hi Everyone,
I was driving from Detroit to Sacramento. While visiting my cousin in Kansas City I was involved in a car accident. The car is either a total wreck or it will take at least two weeks to repair. Until I hear something from the insurance company i'm stuck in KC along with all the stuff in my back seat and trunk.
Assuming that my car is a total wreck, what is the cheapest way to transport my stuff from KC to Sacramento?
It will all fit in a car, so i've considering renting a car one way. But the cheapest I can find is $500. Which is ridiculous for a two day rental.
Fed Ex Freight seems way too expensive. They wanted at least $800 to transport one bag weighing 150 lbs. Which is a ruff estimate for all my stuff.
Anybody with transport knowledge have any advice for my situation?
I'm basically at a loss right now.
Greyhound or Trailways will ship freight.

I have a couple of questions that I’ve not heard addressed.
Does the estimated $1 trillion cost for HR 3200 include the cost of the huge federal departmental structure that would be required to administer such a program, or is that an additional cost?
The president’s stated long-range plan is for a single-payer system. When the health insurance industry is reduced to insignificant, what are the plans to replace the income tax stream currently enjoyed from these companies and their employees who no longer have a job?

I know V.V. Seventy (a rhyme, in my mind). But thanks for the heads up about stats and predictions. I said "chamber types" only as a vague reference to those number crunchers that provide "insights". The multiplier, tho, is a fairly venerable tool based on a demographic's propensity to consume. In the UAW case, these relos would be buying durables (housing, furniture, etc.) at a higher than average rate and spending a healthy portion of their wages week to week. Fairfax' usual suppliers would add help and/or work longer hopefully.
...GM Raising Output At Fairfax Plant - Money News Story - KMBC ...
The automaker said it will add third shifts at its Fairfax plant in Kansas City, Kan., in January. That will be followed in April by third shifts at factories in Delta Township, Mich., near Lansing, and Fort Wayne, Ind. About 2,400 production workers will be recalled as a result of the added shifts. The Fairfax plant makes the midsize Chevrolet Malibu, Saturn Aura and Buick LaCrosse, while Delta Township makes the GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook large crossover vehicles. The Fort Wayne factory makes pickup trucks. GM says in a statement that Fairfax will get all production of the Malibu when the midsize car factory in Orion Township, Mich., closes...News
