I don't mind giving anonymous info like car year and years of driving & zip code, but asking for my physical address and real name, etc, etc --that's just BS

and then they will only EMAIL you the answer.
you'd think you could get an ***instant *** answer WITHOUT giving your email address.

Is there such a site out there or are they all trying to get your real life info & your email so they can bombard you with ads/junk mail later?

Many companies do that because they pull your credit & claims history & other information from your address. If you do not want to disclose all of that information online, just call a good independent agent in your area. The info you give them is confidential & the only place they will give it to is the insurance company or companies they are quoting for you. They probably won't ask your email address but you will have to give them your phone # to call you back with your quotes. Only real life info can get you a real life quote.

i'm looking into getting a new car and the cost of insurance on them will help determine which i get or if i keep my current car. i've tried to get quotes online but they usually want my license number or want to call me and tell me the quotes. i just want to know approximately how much it will be for these cars. there all 4 doors and i would want full coverage

Not all Companies require your license number for an insurance quote. Most will require it because they want to give you an accurate quote.

I give quotes everyday without a License number or a vin#. You just have to realize that the less information you give them. Then the less accurate your quote will be.

Also bear in mind that some Insurance Company's Quote Software simply will not generate a quote without having first entered your driver license number, basically meaning that if you are not willing to give the license number, then that company is declining to offer you a quote.

So the Idea that you “Must” give a License Number is erroneous and not entirely accurate, Most companies train their employees on what data to collect, as a result the agents or service reps of these companies, knowing no better, may actually believe that it is required by all companies or that there is some legal requirement, when that is not the case. Many companies will decline to quote you without it using the rational that if you refuse to give them your drivers license number then your probably not really serious about getting insurance with them anyway and therefore wasting there time, or even worse, that you may be trying to target them for a fraudulent claim.

So in Summary,, Although there is no legal requirement that you disclose your License number just for a quote, many insurers have an internal company policy of no “License Number, No Quote” It is advisable to give your number for the most accurate quote.

Remember the Auto Insurance you Buy is not for "The Vehicle", The Insurance is for "You the Driver" of that Vehicle. I noted that your question seems to focus on the vehicles for the price quote, Actually, Your Driving record associated with your Drivers license is just as important and often far more important than the vehicle type you are trying to insure.

Insurance is for the "Driver", not for the "Cars".

Since you already have a vehicle now, and presumably it is insured, Why not just call your current insurer, they are most likely to give you a quote since they already have your drivers license number and therefore will not have to request if from you again.

NEW YORK (April 24) -- Las Vegas has the highest rate of auto theft per capita of any metropolitan area in the country, according to data from the National Insurance Crime Bureau.

Western states still lead the nation in auto theft rates, according to the NICB. All of the top ten metro areas by per capita auto theft rates are in western states. Half of the top ten metro areas are in California.
