I have a mortgage on a house but don't live there. Family does live there. My insurance premiums are a lot cheaper at that address. Would that be okay legally or would I not be covered if I got into an accident?
No you can't. That is fraud and you could get hit with a big fine and maybe some jail time. Is it really worth it?

Hello new driver :)
If you are a young driver attempting to find cheap and affordable car insurance you are probably already aware of the challenge that lies ahead. The statistics about teenage drivers aren’t good. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), 16-year-olds get into accidents almost six times more often than drivers between the age of 30 and 59. No wonder car insurance premiums are so high for this age group. It has always been difficult if you are aged between of 16 - 25 to insure your car affordably, and although car insurance companies are beginning to recognize the need to supply this ever expanding market, it can still prove to be hard to find a reasonably priced car insurance premium.
For instance, young drivers will often own older or less maintained vehicle compared to other drivers, which means they are more likely to break down and potentially cause an accident. Teenage drivers are also more likely to have accidents which can either injure themselves or the other party.
However, parents should be aware if the fact that there are several ways that can help lower car insurance costs for your teen. In order for teen drivers and car insurance to work well together, parents need to know the factors that will help contribute to paying less for their son or daughter’s auto insurance in the future.
The first thing that insurance providers look into when giving a car insurance quote is the driving record of the person. Teenagers that have a good driving record may merit consideration. What that means is that you can help keep your teen focused on safe driving by having him or her pay a portion of the auto insurance premium. Also, be sure to let your teen know the consequences of getting traffic tickets.
Before you purchase your car it is also worth researching which insurance group it will fall in, so that you can ensure you will be able to get the cheapest possible insurance.
Finally, by using Insurance4lessdirect.com you can rest assured that we will strive to find you the cheapest car insurance premium that will provide you and your teenager with the best cover.
Did you know: If you’re adding your teen driver to your auto insurance policy, be sure to take advantage of the auto insurance discount for good students, available in many states.

i was just wondering for the future what i might have to pay.

Your best bet is to go to an insurance agent in your area. Since you are 16, there is a high degree of likelihood that you still live with your parents or legal guardian. If you do, you probably could get your auto added to their policy.(You would need to work with their insurance agent.) If you can, that will be the least expensive option for you. If you are legally living independently ("emancipated minor" I think is the term used in the US), or are a legally married minor, your best bet is to go to an independent insurance agent who has contracts with more than one insurance company. He help you get the best coverage available to you.
However, if insurance rates in Canada are similar to rates in the US, you are a member of the most expensive group to insure. It will not be cheap. I pay a bit over $100 US per month for full coverage on two autos since the two drivers on my policy are middle aged, married drivers with good driving records. You will pay a lot more since you are young and male. If you keep a good driving record, you will pay less over time since you will grow out of being young. You can't grow out of being male, but as you get older, your gender influences the cost of your insurance less. Single people also pay more for insurance than do married, but that also influences your rates less as you get older. You and you alone have control over your driving record. You never out grow your driving record. If you have a poor driving record and continue to create a bad driving record, your insurance will always be expensive.
I recently started a premium for car insurance.. I started it 2 days ago and i just got ownership on a vehicle. I am now just gonna sell the entire thing and forget about the whole thing... can i stop the premium??
There will be a cancellation fee for the insurance, but it will likely be small. You can call and ask how much and how they calculated it, but insurance will require a written cancellation, the fastest way being a fax. I think it was 50$ the last time I did it, on top of the payment I owe. Sometimes insurers bill one month behind or forward, so you really need to call to see how it works out for you.
Ontario Auto Insurance
For those who may not be aware, auto insurance, which is also known as, car insurance, is taken to protect the vehicle from third party damages and any other liabilities that may occur during the period when the vehicle is insured. With every country, the ground rules remain the same but there may be some difference as far as the payment options and services are concerned. To get a policy or insurance for your vehicle, you have to pay a premium, which can be customized to suit your needs. This amount can be claimed later on when your car or any other vehicle is a part of an accident or third party damages have to be sorted out.
