My daughter is buying her own used car. What is the best insurance company in New Jersey? I cannot put her on the family insurance because I am going through a divorce, my husband will try to convince the court it is my car.
Any suggestions?
There is no "best insurance company". What is best for one, is not so good for another. Simply call for quotes. Consider a large company with a local office and an agent who you can speak to face to face.

my sister lives in new jersey and she is wondering how much is the insurance going to cost. She doesn't have a car yet .. she is 17 .. what does she need in order to get a car. Like how much should she save up in order for her to be able to buy a car.. ..
insurance is EXPENSIVE in jersey. but, without knowing what kind of car and her driving history, i wouldn't even be able to give her a ballpark quote.
My husband and I both have good credit, clean driving histories (no accidents/tickets), he's 28 and I'm 25. He has a 04 avalanch and i have a 00 chevy lumina car. we pay around 200 a month for our insurance through state farm, which was the cheapest for us. that includes our multicar discount and everything. when we were in pa we only paid about 75 dollars a month for the same coverage on the same cars... yikes.
if she has good credit and wants to buy a car with a loan, she wouldn't have to save up too much. but if she wanted to get a car without credit, she will be looking a quite a bit. it really depends on what type of car she wants. tell her to start doing research and go to used car websites to look at prices of cars she's interested in. that way she has a good idea of how much money she needs. then add a whole bunch more for insurance and registration. the nice thing about jersey is inspections are free and registration lasts for 2 years.

I never had an accident or a ticket. My car is paid off also. I am presently with NJ Manufactures on my spouses insurance. I have no idea what our bill was because he has kept me in the dark about our bills and financial status. That is one of the reasons why we are divorcing. Anyway, an estimate for myself would be greatly appreciated.
Get quoted as prices vary a lot so just shop around. I estimate betw $50 monthly and $1200 depending if you are driving a corolla or the latest Bentley model.
Make it 10 times as much if you require comprehensive insurance on a $400.000 lambo .. (make it 25 times as much if you don't garage your car and need theft cover)
Does premium payment depend on the area you live in. Would my car insurance be cheaper in Hudson or Bergen county? Any pointers ly and advice would be greatly appreciated.
insurance depends alot on location as well as driving history, drivers age, and type of car to insure. That is why it is hard to recommend a specific company, as the company that gives me the best rates may give you the worst rates.
the best thing for you to do would be to get an online insurance quote at http://www.auto-insurance-knowledge.com/ 24-hour-insurance-quote-auto.html
This will compare all companies in your area and find you the company that offers you the best price for insurance.
i hope that helps!
I live in NJ. I am 19 years old. I have had some problems in the past with my license. I have hit 2 Deer, had 2 2-Car Accidents, and have 3 Speeding Tickets. There was a period of 90 in which my license was suspended for these violations. I have been clean for a year now. Allstate has jacked my premium this year from $6K to $8K for 6 months. I wanted to change insurances. I tried to get Geico and Esurance but they won't insure me, even with my granddad on the policy as a primary. Esurance was going to cover me on Sunday along with my granddad, but today I called to give them my credit card # and someone different from the person I originally talked to on Sunday said that they cannot insure me. I have been without Insurance for a week now b/c I thought I was going to be with Esurance. What should I do now? How bad is it that I have been without insurance for 5 days? Should I go back to Allstate? Another thing I was thinking was dropping my insurance all together.
The car I was going to insure with Esurance belongs to my granddad. His driving record is clean. All the cars he has are insured. Could I drop my insurance and drive one of his cars legally?
Of course no insurance company wants to touch you, you've had 4 accidents and 3 tickets and your only 19. My first suggestion would be to drive more cautiosly and defensively. Take a defensive driving course. I was in the same boat when I was 19... Only I had 1 ticket and 2 accidents.
You can drive your grandfathers car with his permission as long as the car is insured, and your driving with his permission (and you have a license). Insurance companies insure the car, not the person. Only problem is if the insurance company finds out you are driving his cars (if you get a ticket or accident).. they will drop your grandfather. I would not suggest this.
If I were you, I would get a cheap old car and insure it with liability only. Keep your nose clean and after 3 years, and your insurance rates with go down.
Financial Impact of Moving from New Jersey to Virginia
Though we have been in our new home in Virginia for only 5 days, I already noticed a few money related impacts the move had on us.
The move was mainly because of the relocation of my wife’s job at her employer’s request. But she didn’t get any adjustment of her salary. Of course, in this economic environment, an adjustment is probably too much to ask. We actually feel lucky that she still got to keep her job. That’s the most important thing for us right now. Besides, her employer offered $5,000 in moving assistance, which is more than enough to cover the moving cost. For me, the *new* job I got in VA pays a little more than i my old job did in NJ as I mentioned early. So overall, we made a little more now than before, but the spending increases as well.
