I got quoted by allstate for 1180/6 months for full coverage on a 2010 Toyota Corolla. I am 22 years old and have a pretty clean record, what the heck is going on?
Where can I get cheap insurance?
Any info would be helpful.
Thanks
You are male and under 25 y/o
You have a "pretty clean" record - not totally clean (makes a difference)
A brand new car is always going to be more expensive to insure. Also - popular cars like Corollas and Civics tend to have higher insurance because they are so popular which means they may have a higher risk of accidents.
Definitely shop around. I tried kanetix.ca when I was switching insurance - it gives you different quotes from different insurance companies. Definitely shop around though!!

i got a good quote from their site and i am thinking on switching from Progressive to Allstate. Any good/bad experiences with them?
I've never used them but my parents have had a bad run in with them.. They were in an accident which was in no way their fault. Allstate covered the responsible party of the accident. Allstate refuses to pay ALL claims, regardless of fault, unless you take them to court (or is the case at least with Allstate in AR). Upon further investigation, my parents learned this has happened with others they know. So even though the state trooper said it was the other drivers fault, and witnesses say it was the other drivers fault, my parents have to spend $$$ for a lawyer to take Allstate to court to collect what they should rightfully pay. And Allstate has tied it up for almost 2 years. They aren't trying to get mega amounts of $$$ either, just to get reimbursement for the truck that was totaled and for my step-dad's emergency room visit and the air-ambulance transfers.
So my advice is, don't use them. If they treat people like this, I don't think they are a good company to do business with.
I currently have car insurance with Allstate, but a friend of mine is an agent at Farmers and gave me a really good quote. I would be paying almost half of what I am paying now with Allstate. I have never had a problem with Allstate, but then again I had never had to put a claim or anything. Would it be a good choice to switch? Can anybody give me input on good and bad experiences with both companies?
NO! I used to work at a Farmers office. First of all if you have been with a company lets say 7 years without any claims then you run into a bit of bad luck and have a couple accidents in one year, there won't be much of a problem because you have been with them so long. If you are with a co for a year and this happens your rate will go sky high and or be canceled. Secondly, compare the coverage. Thirdly, Farmers rates are usually high, at least in the south especially in TN. and they usually increase the second year. I Know both will handle claims well. Good luck with your decision.
Since I started driving 9 years ago I have had Liberty Mutual car insurance. I'm not happy with them right now. I was in an accident 6 months ago and they refused to fight it for me. In 9 years I have never had an accident before. I called AAA auto insurance and they gave me a quote. I also called Allstate and they also gave me a quote. These quotes are including the accident that I was in. Which company would you go with? I'm rulling out Mercury.
I'm located in California
Alfa if you are in Alabama.... State Fram is a good one.....@
I'm in the market for new car insurance. Currently I am on my parent's policy at GEICO, which i'm paying a pretty penny. From the quotes I have been getting online, I will be paying for MUCH CHEAPER insurance if I switch. So the picks that I have are:
Progressive
Nationwide
Allstate
State Farm
The quotes I have been given for each company are about all the same. I'm just stuck in choosing which one to go too? Any suggestions?
Considering how wildly prices can differ between cariiers, sometimes the biggest savings can be had simply by shopping around.
Just do the rounds of the comparison sites every so often and if you do find cheaper, confront your current insurers with it, if they don't budge just move on!

there'll be tons more in google, it's free to get quoted so you might as well take advantage of it.
Good luck.

Auto Insurance Quotes?
I received multiple quotes from various agencies or companies for multiple cars, some had a lot different premiums than the other one, even $ 800 to .000 difference on 6 months policy on same coverages, my question I wanted to ask, does it make a difference where you buy it from ? does the big names of well known Insurance companies costs more ? thanks for your opinions,
Well, in most (but not all.) states, prices do vary, so it makes a difference where you buy it from. However, if your quotes are all ONLINE quotes, none of them are any good anyway - they don’t do mvr checks and the credit check, WHICH VERIFIES YOUR RATES, until you are about to purchase the policy.
