so awhiles back, my dad was hit by a driver (ill call him driver c) and it wasnt my dads fault, he was just the victim. now driver c's insurance company payed us after my dad filed a bodily injured claim. so we got the money. then we got letters that our insurance company, allied / nationwide, whichever its called, told us that we need to reimburse them for money, whatever the heck that means, which is what im trying to find out. whats it mean? they (my dad's insurance company) were notified that driver c's insurance company paid my dad bodily injured claim money. so yeah do we gotta pay back the money to them? otherwise what the f is the point in stupid insurance. seriously. do people gotta use such damn hard sophisticated vocabualry that high schoolers such as myself who has parents that dont speakith english and must have everything english thing translated tha i may have a hard time understanding because i dont have a job in the real world yet? i apologize for any crude langauge that may have offended anyone...thanks to anyone who may have a relevant answer :]
You need to ask you insurance company this question. How would we be able to answer better than the insurance company.? Have you learned that people don't appreciate aliens who don't bother to speak our language?

i was in a car accident last week and my car was rear-ended, plus i dislocated my shoulder. the other person was at fault. instead of just allowing me to drop car off and have a rental for a few weeks, the other person's insurance agency, allied/nationwide wants me to take my car in 3 separate times.. 1) make it safe to drive 2) paint 3) parts. they wont give me a rental so i had to find a collision place that had shuttle services, which won't help me get from one place to the next (school to whereverer...)
i have school finals next week and school starts again the following week. i have doctor's apts, plus if i don't work i won't be able to pay rent and my employer has already said i can only have 2 more afternoons off and then i need to have everything fixed. the collision place is an hour away from me, so i have to take at least 4 hours off at a time to have my car fixed. this is all through the other person's insurance agency. i have already taken one day off from work to get a quote for the adjuster...
my insurance agency says state laws in colorado say they cannot represent me....
how do i get the other agency to cover the cost of the rental for the full 3 weeks it will take to repair my car? i already have to take time off from school to go to the doctor and physical therapy.. i went through my health insurance instead of filing the paperwork for the other person's insurance to pay my medical expenses.
i really have no alternative... bumming rides and having shifts covered will not help me.
yes im old enough to rent a car... im not paying a 500 deductible for my insurance to process the claim. it wasnt my fault. that's the dumbest thing i've heard of.
I would get me an Attorney and I would tell Allied that I am going to do such. You have a cut and dry case.Try to find a good one that does not collect from you unless the Attorney win your case.
I just turned right from a busy street, and halfway through the block, another was exiting an ally, didnt stop, and ran right into my car, which I borrowed from my bf. We already spoke to insurance, and I am covered under his policy, BUT, he doenst have collision coverage, if its my fault. I dont think I could have done anything to stop the accident from happening, the guy ran into the side of my car, and smushed the wheel and drivers door in, so I couldnt drive away. Please give your opinion!
It should be his fault as long as you did not have a stop sign.
If he was coming from an ally (not a main rd) it should be his obligation to yield to oncoming traffic, thus should be his fault (as long as you did not have a stop sign).
I would advise turning the claim in through his insurance policy since there is no collision coverage on your boyfriend's car, your boyfriend will have to deal directly with that insurance company since it is his car, but it sounds like it should be the other guys fault.
Sorry this happened and I hope you are ok!

we didnt call the police. insurance co. will determine fault.
if he hit you, it is his fault, alleys are blind entryways, he couldve stopped and looked before procedding

no police report... I called them, and they didnt show up.
Probably his fault. Cars exiting from alleys are supposed to stop and wait for a break in traffic on the main road.
