i have a full coverage on my car with AIG
and it says, it covers rental insurance too..
what does that mean..
generally, how does rental insurance coverage works..
is it only when my car is in unoperable condition or just for any rental that i take when am away from my home...
Rental car insurance means you can sign the collision damage waiver when renting a car, as your policy covers the rental vehicle. It is a "non-owned vehicle" endorsement.
It doesn't mean you get a rental supplied when you have an accident or your vehicle is stolen. Coverage for those eventualities is provided by a "loss of use" endorsement.
I had them for about a year, they weren't bad. There rates are one of the cheapest, and there good if you need quick, or temp coverage. There real big on credit scores, so the worse your credit the higher the premiums...

i recenlty moved from east coast to west coast...i used to have car insurance with AIG while at eastcoast....does any one know if AIG serves car insurance in westcoast also.....especially in Los angeles
Unfortunately, you will have to get a new policy with AIG in California. Each state has different guidelines for insurance companies, so you'll have to do new paperwork. You can call AIG to assist you on this, or if you feel if your premium is too high I also do automobile insurance through different carriers. Shoot me an e-mail if you're interested (not a spam unlike the guy above me).

You shouldn't see any changes at all. It's a merger and all policies remain the same.
Worst thing 21st could have done. AIG merges then declares bankruptcy.....
If the state did not step in a bail AIG/21st out it would have been very difficult on outstanding claims only. In this case the State would take over and claims that should have been settled in 3 months would have taken a year due to all the red tape.
