Do you automatically get AAA discounts for travel, etc. if you have AAA car insurance, or do you also have to pay for an additional membership or something!
you have to have AAA membership to buy the insurance although sometimes once you have insurance they might not make you renew your membership because is 2 different departments but technically you can't have insurance and not have a membership and the discounts only apply when you show your card your membership card that in CA starts w/004 not your insurance card which starts with different digits/letters

No one here can tell you what AAA insurance rates would be. Have you given any thought to ask AAA what their rates would be?

My daughters agent also mine now says she needs to pay her deductible,. I used to have farmers when the same thing happened to me ( a uninsured unlicensed driver hit her). And my deductible was waived. When I looked over the policy it doesnt say anything about a deductible. Any help would be appreciated
YES, WE LIVE IN SANTA CLARA,CA
my daughter has full coverage with uninsured motorist, also the lady that hit her had no license, insurance and she was arrested for outstanding warrants
Are you in Northern or Southern CA? I work for AAA of Northern CA and if this is where you live I can answer your question.

Without knowing what your particular situation is, what coverage you carry on the involved veicle, or what policy you have (there are 3 in CA) I can't give you a more specific answer then this.
First, and I hate to say this, don't listen to your sales agent. They do more harm then good sometimes when their intent is to be helpful. The person you need to be listening to is your adjuster who is located in either Las Vegas or Colorado Springs. But out of curiosity, why is your agent saying your deductible applies?
If you have collision coverage your deductible applies regardless of fault. If there is 1) i.d. on the car (valid plate #) or driver (drivers license #, name/address) and 2) the vehicle is CONFIRMED uninsured you may qualify for a deductible waiver. Contact between the vehicles is also required.
If you do not have collision and only carry Uninsured Motorist Property Damage coverage, there is no deductible but your damages are capped at $3500 and you can only recover the percent of damage you would have recovered from the adverse carrier. For instance, if this is a 50/50 accident you only recover 50% of your damages up to $3500. If you are 0% responsible you cover 100% of your damages up o $3500.
If you haven't filed a claim yet call the claims office in the morning (the number is on your insurance card) to report the accident (we open at 8am). An adjuster will contact you and go over the coverages on your policy and explain how each one works and under what conditions they will apply. If you already have an exisiting claim, contact your adjuster in the morning.
If you have any other info please post it here.

The uninsured motorist portion of the policy only comes into play if your daughter is injured and the other party was at fault. This is a seperate issue from that of the collision coverage where you have a deductible of some dollar amount(there is no such thing as full coverage insurance). If there is a police report (which I'm sure there), if CSAA was immediately notified of the accident, if there was contact b/w the vehicles, and if the r/o of the vehicle is confirmed UM then your deductible may be waived. Again though, b/c there are 3 different policies sold in CA and I have no idea which one you have the above info may not even apply. So check with your adjuster to get this clarified (not your sales agent) and also look at your declarations page to double check what your deductible is.
How would I find info on that? I checked on their website but they don't have anything on it.

GUIDELINE TO CAR INSURANCE IN PANAMA | Panama Car Insurance
Cars made in the year 2000 or newer can be insured for Full Coverage - civil responsibility (personal injuries and damage to foreign property), medical assistance, and coverage for the insured vehicle (collision and comprehensive).
Cars from 1999 or older are insured for Civil Responsibility (damage to thirds) under Panamanian law. This coverage includes foreign property and personal injuries for third parties. Your policy can also include medical assistance for the driver/passengers in your car.
The older the car the higher the premium for full coverage - this has to do with the risk of a car accident and older parts are harder to get and more expensive.
...Why would auto insurance company ask if I have a platinum credit ...
I recently applied for an auto insurance quote through AAA insurance. During the questionaire, I was asked whether I have any platinum credit cards. I currently have a car insured through them, and I am concerned whether they could used quote questionair info against me on my current policy. I was trying to get a quote on a new car that I am considering.
That makes no sense. Credit scores are often used in rating, but your credit score has nothing to do with platinum cards. You can have terrible credit and still have a ‘platinum’ card.
Maybe they were trying to cross market you. I’m not sure if they are involved in the credit card business (AAA dips in alot of strange business). Maybe they were looking for you to get a credit card with them.
